Pampero Aniversario Rum 70cl
About Pampero Aniversario Rum
A premium rum from Venezuela, Pampero Aniversario continues to be distilled in a process unique to the region. Setting the standard for rum production in Venezuela, Pampero is proudly the first rum to be accredited ‘Anejo’, by the Venezuelan government and will satisfy even the most discerning of rum enthusiasts.
Pampero is 100 per cent dark Venezuelan rum, a blend of several rums aged for a minimum of two years in white oak casks. The white oak casks, in which Pampero rum is aged, are stored in the Hacienda in Ocumane, Venezuela.
Pampero became the first rum to be given the aged, 'añejo' designation by the Venezuelan government, thanks to the insistence of co-founder Alejandro Hernandez on ageing in oak casks for new standards of quality and flavour.
Hernandez took the name Pampero from the gauchos who rode the plains in South America, and the logo on the label shows a local cowboy sitting astride a rearing horse in the Venezuelan plains, emphasising its spirit of adventure.
Sweet and Pure
Based in the western part of Venezuela amidst the high peaks, forests and deep valleys of the region, Pampero is an integral part of the Caribbean climate, with the wide fluctuations in day and night temperature forming the basis of the subtly sweet flavour in the sugar cane ingredient. The spring water from the Andean peaks adds its clean, pure taste.
Pampero is best served with cola, picking out the rich, golden colour and flavour of the base spirit for a great drink you'll enjoy at any time. Fill a glass with ice. Pour Pampero rum (50ml) and cola (125ml) into the glass. Garnish with a wedge of lime.
