Without a doubt the worst comedy DVD of all time. Childish, Laddish, Cliched and if that wasn't enough to kill the moment once and for all there's end-to-end laughing at his own 'jokes' too. Poor, lavatorial and totally out of touch. A waste of money.

I went to see Paddy McGuiness recently in Oxford. After having seen the likes of Jimmy Carr, Dylan Moran and Frankie Boyle for similar money, this just seems rubbish in comparison.

Half the act was based around his work for Greggs, the other half was pretty sub par jokes, including ones you might hear from a bloke in the pub.

I have his last DVD, and wouldn't really recommend that either, it's better than this was though.

I found this a little disappointing really given how much I loved the humour of Max and Paddy's adventures.
The toilet-humour is on overdrive, very laddy and drunk-in-the-pub fodder. Without giving any more of the sub-standard material away, it just trots out the old clichés of him 'liking the ladies' and everything that goes on in the pants department...

I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised by this DVD. Now don't get me wrong I'm not recommending this to anyone (there's at least ten comedy DVDs been released this Xmas which knock this one out of the ground) but it's a huge improvement on the last one.

Basically you get an hour or so of material which is predictable and largely unoriginal (as you might expect) but it's difficult to be too harsh with a comedian who displays charm and charisma throughout. There are some fairly major annoyances: Paddy is consistently childish, has a tendency to laugh uproariously at his own jokes, makes endless references to Greggs (which are not even vaguely funny) and has a bizarre revulsion of his own bodily fluids which he illustrates by pretending to retch on stage (why?). Nonetheless it's all pretty anodyne stuff and very watchable. Just don't expect anything cutting edge!

The extras include a few interesting insights into Paddy's psyche including his less pleasant "celebrity" pomposity but also the more human self doubt and nervousness before gigs.

what a load of rubbish. i enjoyed his first dvd, an have seen him twice before. once on his jumping on the bandwagon tour ( which sadly never got put on dvd) and his last tour. but this one just wasnt very funny.
go back to making another max and paddy!!
