N. Harman says:
Would you normally go to a cash machine at midnight and take out £300 if you could wait until the morning? Probably not...

N. Harman says:
Another kid with a sense of entitlement that thinks the world revolves around them...if you seriously think you need police protection don't put yourself in that position. Very simple.

N. Harman says:
You are buying a consumer product, the second you have your hands on it you will be running out of the store. What "experience" are you expecting... Other than the fear of trying to get home safe and every shadow being after you...

If you're that worried ask the shop to put in private security. Or hire a bodyguard. Or park your car really close. Or get a taxi from the shop. Any one of a million things really!

Don't really care if you would appreciate it. Perhaps local councils should ban midnight openings. That would make it safer. If you feel so worried you think you need to call the police do not put yourself in that position. Or get some friends who are not gamers who might be able to talk some sense in to you.

N. Harman says:
Also, you as calling the police because you are worried for others, paranoia and fear. Perhaps you should lay off the games for a while...

Can't fault you Callum. Hope you enjoy your PS4. Having mine delivered, but I do like a midnight launch.

I think it's perfectly fine to ask for Police attendence, they can and do turn up for other niche events, why not a console release? Especially bearing in mind the reason the police were formed in the first place.

N. Harman says:
So where should these police be? The 2 guys mugged were in a car park , not the shop. So police at the shop, on the streets near the shop, in car parks near the shop. Oh and near the pubs, clubs and normal policing. A little bit of drama and publicity for games companies and it puts peoples lives possibly at risk. Just pick it up at 9am and have a full day to enjoy.

N. Harman says:
Might just follow you around the forum, with your sense of entitlement and your own sense of superiority. Of course the police said thanks , they have to be polite to the public. Sure your call has now made this Sheffield polices main priority. By the way, small point but when you post on a public forum you can't really dictate who replies, you are not that important, sorry to break that to you, you can of course block.

Sorry but I can't see police outside every store opening at midnight unless they're in the queue to get a ps4 themselves,as N.Harman correctly said these men were in the Carpark, cctv is everywhere at shopping malls we are advised to take a different bag to put the console in,just b vigilant and take care
Personally I'd wait till daylight but mine's being delivered, can't stand queues!!

Some people are so harsh, if Callum feels like he might be mugged that's fair comment because it happens a lot! People mocking isn't going to help! What's the point in commenting if you are going to be a-holes!

HAHA wow !! the police thanked him and Callum no doubt hung up the phone with a certificate smile because he was thanked. haha what N.Harman is saying is right, if your frightened, scared and paranoid to leave the house... then don't leave the house, or hit the weights before leaving next time. I guess 9 hours out of some kids lives is just too much considering only 'crotchety old gits' remain in doors - if you aren't the former (who stays in doors) yet you are an avid gamer (who stays in doors a lot) YET you've never been to midnight release before...? something doesn't add up here
