Takes 2 days to break in a battery but that only needs doing every 30 charges. It has let me know just how bad the state of my batteries was from using `dumb` chargers for so long.

I am now in the long process to see how many of the bad ones I can bring back to life.

It is good to be able to properly pair up batteries rather than just matching the number on the side of them.

i have used the charger for a short while now. I can confirm that with AA battery ive had no problem. With aaa varta batteries i ve had several problem. though i think the batteries were fake ones. please note that with this dealer you will get the europlug and amazon will not send you the uk plug, they will only offer you a return of the product. In the main i would say that this charger is aimed at the professional market and not the just put in the batteries and leave it. you must read the english instruction thoroughly about 5 times before using.

I have quite a few 2850 mAh AA rechargeable batteries and, despite the manufacturers claims they do eventually struggle to hold a charge for long when recharged with a fast charger - which mine are designed to be used with. Using the POWEREX MH-C9000 I have been able to recover most of their 'as new' capacity. It can take a while - the unit charges and discharges the batteries a number of times controlling the rates of charge and discharge - expect the process to take at least 10 hours. You can then return to 'abusing' the batteries using a fast charger for a while.

What a super product. Easy to use and can bring back old batteries from the dead. Well not exactly! I asked the supplier if there was an adapter for the unit to convert it from a two pin to a three pin plug. When I was having my breakfast this morning a parcel arrived marked ( PRIORITY ) When I opened it their was a three pin 120/240V to 12v unit that plugs into the charger.

I bought this charger over 5 years ago and it has not missed a beat; NiCd and NiMh, it works with both, charging and restoring hundreds of batteries to full capacity.
Worth noting: read the manual carefully, it is simple, but there are 3 charging modes depending on how batteries have been used.
If you have any questions, the Powerex / Maha customer support via the website really goes the extra mile to help.
Overall, superb.

It has been on my wishlist for ages. The most expensive of the home chargers for AA and AAA batteries, but also the most praised. Now I got it and it's a wonder! It takes a little time to get used and you have to read twice the small manual printed in several languages including english, french, german and italian, no spanish on my box, nevermind people: it's so logical.
No extra items, carrying bags or stickers ;0) Only the mighty Powerex MH-C9000 and the mains power supply for the EU market but able to work from 100V to 240V 50/60 Hz. Got plenty of stuff to do on my batteries. I am healing some old NiMh cells right now.
Code version on the back is 0K0EA. Pretty new one.

Amazon puntuale come sempre (anzi, con 1 giorno di anticipo rispetto alla data presunta), pacco integro e ben imballato.
Ricevuto giovedì, messo subito al lavoro per valutare il parco batterie ricaricabili vecchio, sta svolgendo egregiamente il suo lavoro.
Per ora ho scaricato tutte le batterie (funzione "dischg" = "scarica"), sia formato AA (stilo) e AAA (ministilo) e ne ho analizzate alcune con l'apposita funzione "refresh & analyze", già ho trovato dei miglioramenti più o meno evidenti per quanto riguarda la capacità residua delle batterie provate.
A breve proverò la funzione "break-in" sulle batterie più deboli dal punto di vista della capacità residua, anche se ci vorranno molte ore (circa 40) per finire l'operazione.

E' un caricabatterie con funzioni avanzate, consigliato a chi ha bisogno di batterie sempre in ottimo stato di salute, per esempio per l'utilizzo con flash fotografici anche professionali, radio ricetrasmittenti, modellismo, torce etc.

Meno consigliato a chi serve un caricabatterie puro per utilizzo batterie tipo giocattoli o telecomandi etc, per i quali ci sono caricabatterie "intelligenti" altrettanto validi e meno costosi.

Pro:
- resta spento se non ci sono batterie negli slots
- multifunzione
- ampia gamma di correnti di carica e scarica regolabili
- 4 canali indipendenti, con controllo e protezione su ogni canale
- ha un supporto integrato estraibile che permette al caricabatterie di restare sollevato dal lato opposto al display per consentire una migliore ventilazione
- esegue una specie di self test del display appena si inserisce l'apposito alimentatore (esterno) nella presa di corrente
- involucro in plastica robusta

Pecca:
- Display: molto luminoso (retroilluminazione bianca), resta acceso sempre finchè ci sono batterie inserite (anche solo 1), di notte potrebbe dare fastidio se in camera da letto (a meno che non si voglia usarlo come luce notturna).
Non ha un grande angolo di visualizzazione, bisogna essere abbastanza perpendicolari per poter vedere la cifre e le scritte nitide.
Luminosità e contrasto fissi.
- Cavetto alimentazione un po' rigido, da evitare continui maneggiamenti, meglio piazzarlo in un posto e lasciarlo lì.
- Istruzioni non in italiano (ma si trovano su internet)
- Manca un tasto (o funzione) per applicare le impostazioni a tutte le batterie in un colpo solo

Attenzione:
- Se non viene selezionata una funzione entro un tot. di secondi dopo l'inserzione della batteria, in automatico parte la carica con una corrente di 1Ampere (o 1000mA) dannosa per alcuni tipi di batterie AA (stilo) e sicuramente dannosa per batterie AAA (ministilo), per cui MASSIMA attenzione; meglio perdere qualche secondo per impostare correttamente i parametri.
- Evitare di mettere ventole aggiuntive per raffreddare le batterie in quanto il caricabatterie ha una protezione termica integrata anche per quanto riguarda le batterie: forzando il raffreddamento si può vanificare l'intervento della protezione, rovinando tutto.
Meglio impostare correnti di carica/scarica più basse (anche se ciò vuol dire tempi più lunghi)

Nach langer Überlegung habe ich mich doch entschieden dieses Produkt der BC-Reihe vorzuziehen und meine Erwartungen wurden vollständig erfüllt. Das Gerät war ordentlich verpackt und die ausführliche Bedienungsanleitung in Papierform war ebenfalls beigelegt (man muss sich also nichts aus dem Internet herunterladen). Die Verarbeitung ist ordentlich und wirkt sehr robust und es sind keinerlei unangenehme Gerüche bei der ersten Inbetriebnahme wahrnehmbar. Nach dem Einschalten macht das Gerät einen kurzen Selbsttest. Das große sehr gut ablesbare und helle Display ist beeindruckend. Alle Informationen zum aktuellen Ladeprogramm lassen sich pro Slot separat einblenden, wenn man nichts betätigt, dass schaltet die Anzeige automatisch zwischen den belegten Slots um. Die Displaybeleuchtung lässt sich während eines Ladeprogramms nicht abschalten, aber das ist nicht störend wenn das Gerät nicht gerade vor der Nase steht oder neben einem Fernseher ;)

Die Akkus werden super schnell geladen, man kann den Ladestrom getrost etwas höher einstellen, da das Gerät die Temperatur laufend überwacht. Auch defekte Akkus werden kurze Zeit nach einem Programmstart erkannt. Mit dem "Refresh & Analyze" kann man die tatsächliche aktuelle Kapazität messen und auf die max. mögliche Kapazität bringen.

Die Bedienung ist kinderleicht und sehr intuitiv. Das Gerät zeigt zwar nicht die Daten alles Slots gleichzeitig an (bis auf bestimmte Infos wie Programm abgeschlossen usw.), aber man kann mit einem Tastendruck zwischen den Slots umschalten. Mit 2000mA Ladestrom pro Slot ist man auch für die zukünftigen Akkus gut gerüstet!

Alles in einem ein Super-Ladegerät!

Leider ist jedoch kein KFZ-Adapter im Lieferumfang enthalten.

-Benutzerfreundlichkeit: mittel
Es gibt keine Speichermöglichkeit für eigene Einstellung, deshalb müssen jedesmal für jeden einzelnen Schacht die Parameter (Lade- und Entladestrom und ggf. Zyklen etc.) neu eingegeben werden. Allerdings ist die Ladung im "Standardmodus" mit 1000 mA eigetlich auch ganz i.O.. Außerdem gibt es keinen Modus um Akkus vor dem Laden automatisch zu entladen. Aber entladen muss man NIMH-Akkus vor dem Laden ja eigentlich auch nicht. Der Entladevorgang ist ein eigener Modus für sich. Nach dem Laden muss manuell in den Lademodus gewechselt werden. Das Display ist schon bei Tageslicht viel zu hell. Das Gerät ist relativ groß und für Reisen damit nur bedingt geeignet.

Bedienungsanleitung: mittel
Begründung: die deutsche Übersetzung ist teilweise schlecht und sogar fehlerhaft. Z.B. wird die Ruhezeit mit Zyklusmodus mit 1 statt mit 2 Stunden (wie richtig in der englischen Ausgabe genannt) angegeben. Außerdem wird eine Funktion zum Wechseln zwischen den Anzeigeparametern während eines Arbeitsvorgangs beschrieben, die jedoch garnicht existiert. (Ebenfalls richtig in der englischen Anleitung.) Letztlich erwähnt die deutsche Übersetzung nicht die Funktionsweise der Batterie-Erkennung. Diese geschieht laut englischem Text durch die Messung des Wiederstandes/der Impedanz der bei Batterien und defekten Akkus wesentlich höher ist. Sonst ist die Anleitung jedoch i.O..

Fazit: ich würde es wieder kaufen.

Ottimo caricabatterie intelligente con tutte le funzionalita' aggiuntive e vari pro.

Prima di tutto non c'e' alcuna ventola ne' altre parti in movimento, cosa positiva per tre ragioni:
- non si rovinera' quando, dopo tanti utilizzi, la polvere sara' incastonata nella ventola
- non interferisce col meccanismo di rilevazione del calore
- essendo capace di ricaricare ad alti mAh, e' costruito per dissipare il calore in maniera passiva

Il caricabatterie in questione oltre a ricaricare da 1 a 4 batterie AA o AAA (ogni canale e' indipendente) ha anche una serie di programmi avanzati per analizzare, rinfrescare e far rivivere le batterie.

Molti lamentano l'interfaccia e il numero di tasti da premere, ma non capisco, seriamente, che motivo ci possa essere. E' vero c'e' da premere una serie di tasti per scegliere i parametri piu' adatti, e - in relazione ad altri modelli - magari potrebbe avere una modalita' di configurazione di tutti e 4 i canali in una volta sola, ma seriamente: per la normale ricarica se inseriamo la batteria e non premiamo nulla, dopo qualche secondo parte automaticamente la ricarica a 1000mAh, esattamente quello che faremo la maggior parte delle volte. Per le volte in cui vorremo fare qualche operazione piu' avanzata, dovremo premere qualche volta i tasti. Ripeto: non credo che lo faremo piu' di una volta al mese.

Chi ha bisogno di ricarica 16/32 batterie al giorno, probabilmente avra' bisogno di affiancare a questo qualche altro carica batteria in grado di caricare piu' batterie contemporaneamente (che guarda caso, se di ottima qualita', effettueranno la ricarica a 1000mAh esattamente come il fa modello in questione se non premiamo alcun tasto!). Noi altri penso che non avremo problemi a premere qualche tasto quando serve...

Per quanto riguarda le altre funzionalita', tutte molto utili, abbiamo

"Refresh & analyze" che carica, scarica e ricarica le pile comunicando quanti mAh e' riuscito a ricavarne nella fase di scarica (unico modo per sapere quanto riesce a dare una batteria). Utile anche per pile rimaste ferme qualche tempo, le "smuove" evitando che si rovino

"discharge": scarica le pile e comunica quanti mAh e' riuscito a ricavarne. Utile per verificare lo stato di salute di un set di pile ed eventualmente identificare l'elemento con problemi

"Break In": procedura un po' drastica che serve a resuscitare pile maltrattate (come quelle che avevo caricato per mesi col caricabatterie ultra rapido della Varta che le ha bruciate...) dura quasi 2 giorni, da usare solo per pile da resuscitare, appunto

"cycle": esegue una serie impostabile (da 1 a 12) di cicli di carica/scarica per ricondizionare batterie che hanno perso un po' di smalto, magari dopo essere state ferme a lungo (o come nel mio caso dopo averle maltrattate con caricabatterie non degni di tale nome). Utilissima la funzione di report che, per ogni ciclo, riporta quandi mAh ha ricavato (oltre a tempi e voltaggio)

In tutte le funzioni la carica puo' avvenire a mA impostabili da 200 a 2000 con incrementi di 100, la scarica da 100 a 1000.
Difficile trovare altri caricabatterie con questi numeri!

Davvero un apparecchio completo e di qualita'.
