I suppose there's a good reason why pyramid bags are considered better but I've never taken the time to find out why. Maybe they give the leaves more room to mingle. Whichever shape they came in would result in a lovely, refreshing tea though, I expect. It tastes really nice.
Aside from the usual method of drinking it hot I also tried it iced and that's just lovely on a nice day in the garden. I made up a very strong pot of it and let the bags steep until the tea was good and dark. Then I left it to cool and decanted it into a glass jug and left it in the fridge for a few hours. With a few ice cubes added it makes an nice alternative to the usual iced tea with lemon.
Definitely recommend these.
File under an interesting experiment but definitely not my cup of tea.
I don't tend to use bags with a string but I easily adapted to these. Be careful as you pull the string off the pyramid as it does stick a little. I have always left my tea bag in the cup and I leave it to brew for at least five minutes. I don't take the bag out once brewed and before drinking because I feel this way you get a really good minty taste but leaving the bag in is not for everyone! I never add milk etc. Just boiling water.
Peppermint is known to aid digestion and for me, this really works. I drink at least 5 cups a day and it definitely aids digestion. I am pleased with this flavour, it's on a par with the Typhoo one.
The PG tips version of peppermint tea is not as overpowering as some of the other brands of peppermint tea, and for fans of a stong peppermint taste, this may cause some disappointment. However, as someone who is not a regualr drinker of green teas this was a pleasant change without being too overpowering. As with regualr PG tips, the tea is served in pyramid teabags which allow the leaves more space to brew giving a better taste.
I will be buying these again, its a very nice change from "normal" PG tips
Sounds great but the thing is that I'm not over keen with the taste of tea, so I've been testing loads of varieties over the years & wanted to try this product as green tea is meant to taste different. Taste wise: this is the best blend of tea I've ever tried. Over the years I've tried black tea, white tea, green tea, fruit blends and herbal blends, but have never found anything else so pleasant. It's sweet enough not to need any sugar adding, but at the same time isn't overly sweet and sickening. The soft mint gives the tea an added zing, but isn't cold or overpoweringly 'fresh'.
I also went all Myth Blusters and compered the triangle teabag against a regular square one, and yes, this product's shape did result in the tea steeping faster and with more flavour coming through. So that's a plus point, minus the lack of difference to the flavour.
