I was disappointed that my TV, which has it has a built-in DVB tuner, couldn't received DVB HD broadcasts. As I have an excellent PC monitor, a 22" Samsung with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, installing a HD TV tuner card seemed the cheapest option. I have Windows 7, 64-bit Professional, comes with Windows Media Center (WMC).
Before buying, open your PC case and check that you have a free PCI-E slot. Google if you don't know what such slots look like. PCIE slots can be short as well as long; - this tuner card fits any of them but it won't fit the other sort of slot ('PCI') you'll see when you open the PC case.
Fitting the card is extremely simple. Just open the case, leave the power lead plugged in - but off! - and touch any metal bit of the case to discharge any static to ground and plug in the card and secure. I installed the Windows drivers from the mini CD that's supplied with the tuner card - just one click from the menu options that appear after inserting the CD, that's all that's needed. I decided to install and explore the software that comes with the tuner card later after getting the card working with WMC .
My TV signal strength is average only. Also, I had to run a 20 metre long cable from the aerial socket to the TV tuner card. I needn't have worried. It was very simple to get WMC - I was using it for the first time - to scan for TV channels. It found nearly 100. I don't know whether WMC or the tuner card assigns channel numbers but I was pleased to find that the numbers were familiar
The picture quality of standard broadcasts is very good. The picture quality of HD broadcasts is breathtakingly good (but I was seeing HD TV for the first time). I tested record/playback - excellent too although HD broadcasts take up a huge amount of disk space when stored.
The remote control is high quality and comes with a tiny receiver that's secured on the monitor, mine's at bottom-right corner - sticky pad supplied.
It's a high-quality tuner card that's very simple to install and gives outstandingly good HD reception when displayed on a 1920 x 1080 monitor. It appears to work well with weak signals. Investigate the dual tuner version if you want to record a lot. Can't think of any cons - except price!

I installed this as an upgrade from my previous DVB-T tuner card on our 5 year old Medion Dual-Core Intel computer running Windows 7 (32 bit). The card was very easy to install in the PCI-E slot on my mobo, and the drivers were simple to install using the supplied cd. Once installed I followed the instructions (again on the supplied CD as a pdf file) to configure Windows Media Centre to use the tuner. This went without a hitch and took in about 10 minutes, including searching for channels.

Once this was done, all worked perfectly. The picture quality is excellent, especially using the Freeview HD channels which are now available.

I didn't use any of the supplied software I am afraid, but if you are running Windows 7 or Vista, this is really not required, as like I did, you can just use Media Centre, which is an excellent piece of software.

I was impressed by the inclusion of a remote control, receiver and even a half-height card adaptor, but didn't use these, (as I have never used the remote control supplied with the computer)

All in all I would recommend this kit.

The card itself is good. Simple to install and with my internal (on top of a cupboard) aerial connected, it can pick up 140 odd channels. The driver is also fine - no problems. It is let down badly by the TV viewing software provided. There are 3 different programs to choose from. I had problems with all of them. What worked in one, didn't in another. Whether I had the right codecs or not I don't know. All I can say it was an extremely frustrating experience. The ProgTV program was unbelievably buggy. My PC is a fast quad core Intel i5, running Windows 8.1. It was forever freezing. I have never had any programs cause issues like this before on this PC. The second major bugbear was the remote control software. I just could not get all the functions working in all the programs.
Saving grace - I ended up buying Windows Media Centre. Luckily, it works like a dream and the remote also works as it should. I shouldn't have had to do this but hey ho.

This review is based on the 2nd one of these I have owned. The 1st was returned because it would vary whether it was detected by device manager in windows 7.
The fault I believe did effect the 2nd card as well. The card does not sit correctly in ANY PCi-e slot on my board, yet EVERY OTHER card I have will sit flat in each slot, and screw holes line up.
To get this to sit properly you have to bend the angled end of the fitting, (not easy), then bend the screw hole back to 90 deg. Otherwise the picture is very good, even the SD broadcasts are better than my old USB stick. Could do with one decent software package that has ALL settings/options, not have to install 2 or 3.
UPDATE:-
Replacement card also fails to be detected sometimes by windows 7 on a cold boot, (but always on a warm boot or restart) - the only reason I can think of is a driver issue or maybe the fact my OS is on an SSD drive, this loads windows within 15 seconds, which maybe too fast for the card to be detected, I don't know I am no expert.

I've had this card a while and at first it seemed to work OK with Media Center (Windows 7) and MediaPortal (Windows 8.1). But my PC was occasionally freezing and crashing (blue screen) and eventually I narrowed the problem down to the buggy drivers for this card - the name of the driver shows briefly on the blue screen. I tried all sorts of things, downloading the latest driver and trying the "windows" or "combined" driver, 32 or 64 bit version, installing in "compatibility" mode, changing BIOS settings and even doing a complete "clean" reinstallation of the entire operating system, but still the problem kept happening (intermittently). As soon as I disabled the driver the problems went away. Very annoying.

Windows does show a big "unsigned driver, use at your own risk" warning when installing it and I suggest you take note!
