Hard to say what it was about this book but it just didn't work. It seem like the author has picked 5 things out of books she likes and squashed it together to make this. Far too much sex it got boring and repetitive, the language was repetitive. The ending... well I will not spoil will just say that it didn't work. Far too rush and so many things that did not add up. How the heroine can go back... well plain stupid if she does. It has been left for book 2 but I won't be reading it.

5 mega high voltage stars !

Wow, wow wow, this has to be one of my favourite books so far ! I was recommended to read this book and knew nothing about it beforehand and I'm so glad I just 'one-clicked' without even an insight to the story.

How do I sum this one up ? ....
Intense - very,
Dark - extremely,
Captivated - completely,
The Ending - totally didn't see that one coming!

Right from the very first page I was in there addicted to this book and I got very little sleep ! Usually a book with so much sex I find gets a little repetitive after a while but this one was a hot, dark and blow your mind page turner and I didn't want this book to end.

Brilliantly written, I can't wait to get started on book 2 'Claimed', here's to hoping it's as good if not better !

Well as far as Dark reads goes this is indeed a goody. Without a doubt this messes with your head and the horrors of captivity and it all entails are forced into your brain as often as Ellie is chained to the headboard – yeah, a freakin lot!

Now in some of the reviews I have read about Owned, there was one that likened this book as fan fiction to CJ Robert’s Dark Duet…. OMG that is so far from the truth it’s unreal. The ONLY simularity is the use of the name Kitten… and just the use of that word does not a copy of a book make!!!

I also read another review that said that reviewer never really got the sense that it was what Ellie wanted – well no s*** sherlock! Sorry that’s probably rude of me , but of course she ‘didn’t want to be kidnapped!’ And I feel that M. Never got the mix perfect with Ellie’s disgust and then horror as her body changed by conditioning that she was submitting by demand and you could tell this went against everything in her mind to be right.

The characters that were in Owned, owned this story. Each one was a perfect addition, from the goodies to the baddies. My opinion as a dark romance lover is that the mix was done perfectly well with all the characters.

I hated Kayne, yet the more we found out about him the more I understood him and knew there was a bigger reason. I did argue with Ellie on several times just to punch Kayne in the godd@mn gonads whenever she could and indeed the lovable Jett, because although he was so nice to her, he was actually condoning Kayne’s kidnap of her. I wanted Ellie to clam up and not enjoy his company. but in amongst all this that I wanted Ellie to do I could understand why she didn’t too! And that to me is the sign of a good writer.

There’s some powerful sex scenes going on in this book.

I received a copy for an honest review

Owned is book 1 in the decadence after dark series and that couldn't describe this book better - pure decadence best enjoyed after dark. This book wasn't what I was expecting but I wasn't disappointed - insanely hot and definitely a dark erotic romance this isn't one for the light-hearted.

Ellie Stevens has worked at Expo for a couple of years now slowly moving her way up the ranks. Having never been able to afford to go to college she's been saving her whole life to fulfil her dreams, see the world and get herself a better education. For the last year she's been lusting after their biggest client, Kayne Roberts. Drop dead gorgeous and intriguing as hell she's always admired him from afar. But when he comes in for a meeting her lust gets the better of her and she can't resist flirting with him over the mini cupcakes.

Arranging to see each other at a work party Ellie can't believe she's finally got the chance to be with the man whose occupied her dreams incessantly. But will the reality of being with him match her fantasies?

Kayne isn't exactly what he appears to be. Turning up to Expo's party he's anxious to see Ellie after admiring her for a long time. Having never thought he could be with her he's stayed away but after she practically offers herself to him he just can't resist. When the two finally meet they don't plan to stay for long but when an acquaintance of Kayne's drops by and sees Ellie, the plan drastically changes.

In a bid to protect Ellie Kayne does the only thing he can think of - claims her. Kidnapping her and locking her away in his mansion he goes to desperate lengths to make her his and keep her safe.

Whatever your views are on reading about a woman who is starved beaten and sexually assaulted, the 'Hero' of the story was terribly unlikeable, with lots of shoehorned in bits about how bad he was feeling, which culminates in ***Spoilers ahead*** the worst excuse in the world for 'training' her. Not only were the details of the 'secret mission' vague (or maybe the explanation was in one of the many passages I skipped) it was laughable - in reality she would have been moved into a witness protection style arrangement, can you imagine what would happen if a woman went to the media with THAT story? Yes it's a fantasy, but in those last pages any redeemable qualities dissipate and he just becomes a selfish manipulator and rapist. It worries me when the words 'romance' are applied to a story like this. It's Dark Erotica - NOT romance.
Add to that repetition as chapter after chapter she's upset, oh but then he's so sexy, he's a bit nice to her but then he's mean to her again, what can this all mean oh maybe being kidnapped from my promising future isn't so bad after all (did I mention the heroine's a wet blanket - lots of 'telling' us she's very upset about the whole situation, lots of 'showing' us she's just desperate for this man's attention.)
The sex scenes, the ones I read, were written well, and that's about all I can say. Otherwise I was reminded of the writing 'quality' of 50 shades of grey on more than one occasion... sorry.
