I started following this diet when it was serialised in a national paper before it was released. There is a lot of science behind the diet in the book, but it all makes sense. Regarding weight loss, yes it is slower than expected but I'm quite happy with this as I am still having my weekend drinks and meals out, so it would probably be more if I were to give that up (but then life would be dull!). You have to realise that this diet is probably tested on people with vast amounts to lose and therefore they will experience big losses changing to such a healthy way of eating. I probably need to lost 2 stone at the most and I lost 5.5lbs in the first week and 2lbs a week for the last two. More inspiring is that after 3 weeks following this diet, I have lost 5 inches around my waist and 2 inches round my boobs :-( Maybe a tape measure is a better idea than scales ....

Personally, I find the diet incredibly easy to follow especially as we eat out a lot! The basic principle is protein (a fair bit!), veggies, fruit and a smaller amount of wholewheat carbs and dairy foods. You don't need to follow the recipes in the book, they are examples, and restaurants can easily cater for you. Yes, meat, fish, fruit and veg is expensive, but that is healthy eating for you. Other than whey protein you don't need to buy anything particularly unusual and if you don't have the odd strange smoothie ingredient (i.e. fat free chocolate sauce!) just leave it out! I have cooked some of the meals in the book and we have all (kids included) enjoyed them, I just give the kids more carbs.

easy to follow and one day of smoothies is copable. Could do with a few more recipes to make meals a bit more interesting.

This is a good idea for a diet plan if you can stick with it. The shakes are nice, but to have three in a day is quite hard going and after one at breakfast and lunch, i couldn't face another at tea time so i gave up and had a meal! The exercise plan inside is great - i have kept the book purely for the 20min workout.

This looks absolutely brilliant, my only criticism being that in the book it mentions Physicians Protein Mix, concocted by the author, but I have not been able to locate a supplier for it except on her US website. The book arrived promptly and in good condition

I was really excited about this book after reading all the press about it but feel a bit let down. I've only on the 4th day so I should probably give it a bit longer but here's the review so far:
The recipes are expensive, take ages to make and don't taste that nice.
The book said that the smoothies fill you up so you don't get hungry on the smoothie day - they lied!
I lost 3 pounds on the first day, then gained 2 pounds back after following the fuel up plan strictly for 2 days.
The exercise plan is really hard and I haven't been able to do the 2nd workout because I still hurt too much from the 1st.
For some weird reason since I've been on the diet I haven't been able to sleep properly either.
On a more positive note, I do feel a bit healthier since starting it, my mind has been clearer and my concentration better, I have more energy and I think I look a bit more glowy! Also, the recipes are quite filling so I think I am eating less than I was before (and definitely more healthily) and am finding I do not get as hungry as usual between meals.

I read, digested and then followed this diet plan...for 5 days. Ok. I know I should perhaps have given it longer, but feel let down by the promises of a 2lb weight loss in the first day. Unfortunately my scales didn't change at all. And I followed the plan to the letter.
In addition to the lack of weight loss, I agree with one of the previous reviews that this diet plan requires a lot of time. The book, whilst including a shopping list, does not really help you with shopping for exactly what is needed in the first week. Instead, I had to keep skipping between the week's diet plan and the recipes for that week at the back of the book (which seem, unhelpfully, in no particular order). My shopping bill for the week was nearly 50% more than usual. And then there was the lack of room in the fridge for all the ingredients. You will definitely need to have an American style fridge or shop on a more regular basis. It also helps if your partner/family is following the same diet as the recipes are usually for more than one person which means more food needed to store in the fridge!
The more I review this, the more I realise I was right to give up! Too stressful by far. If it was working (and the book seems to guarantee the 2lb weight loss in the first 24 hours) I may have given it longer. Instead, I'm switching to the Fast Diet (5:2) which seems to offer much more successful results and prolongs life to boot!
