The storyline follows the journey of a couple, Jen and Noam, who drove their Land Rover around the world. Before they set off they've set themselves a set of 'rules' and 'missions' to follow, and complete, during their journey. Lots of good humor there! Some of the missions are original and creative, which made the whole journey truly unexpected, funny and surprising - loved it.
The book is written well and is easy to read. There are also many maps, photos and notes included - Bonus. I always like when travel books provide visuals in addition to the story.
Finally, I'd add that the book is not only for Overlanders (although they'd appreciate the 'Practicalities' part in the end of each chapter). Anyone can enjoy – and will enjoy – the journey and the exciting adventures.
Bottom line, I recommend it!
Lacked continuity, more of a list of stops and travel itinerary than a readable story. Has a few irritating typos but otherwise the text is well constructed if disjointed at times.
Author a bit quick to blame others for his own lack of planning e.g. Land Rover for not checking that they had a spare wheel before setting out, British Embassy staff for not arranging a visa for Russia etc.
Wish them good luck with their next adventure.
It;s also the first bok I've read on Kindle, I started reading it on my laptop, then iPad and finished it on my birthday pressie Kindle, Cheers Noam.
