I really enjoyed this book. The premise is simple - get a Land Rover (good choice!) and give everything up to drive to the other side of the world. It's full of humour and very thoughtful comments about tourism and the way we view our world. The only reason for not giving it the full 5 stars is the occasional annoyance of typos, spelling mistakes and grammatical errors - but they didn't spoil my overall enjoyment of a very inspiring book.

As a person who likes traveling and loves writing I can easily say that I really enjoyed reading this book. It flows well, it's fun and some of the stories are spectacular.

The storyline follows the journey of a couple, Jen and Noam, who drove their Land Rover around the world. Before they set off they've set themselves a set of 'rules' and 'missions' to follow, and complete, during their journey. Lots of good humor there! Some of the missions are original and creative, which made the whole journey truly unexpected, funny and surprising - loved it.

The book is written well and is easy to read. There are also many maps, photos and notes included - Bonus. I always like when travel books provide visuals in addition to the story.

Finally, I'd add that the book is not only for Overlanders (although they'd appreciate the 'Practicalities' part in the end of each chapter). Anyone can enjoy – and will enjoy – the journey and the exciting adventures.

Bottom line, I recommend it!

Tried to like this book by Jen and Noam as the profits go to one of my favourite charities but just could not get into it and eventually gave up.
Lacked continuity, more of a list of stops and travel itinerary than a readable story. Has a few irritating typos but otherwise the text is well constructed if disjointed at times.
Author a bit quick to blame others for his own lack of planning e.g. Land Rover for not checking that they had a spare wheel before setting out, British Embassy staff for not arranging a visa for Russia etc.
Wish them good luck with their next adventure.

I've always loved to travel but I wouldn't say I'm the adventurous type but this book had me captivated. The thought of leaving all your comforts and exploring the places on earth that hardly anyone goes to fascinating. The story is real and humble. I enjoyed being taken on the journey with this brave pair. I laughed out loud at some points and then tensely turned the page in others, silently worrying, thinking, how are they going to get out of this! It's a brilliant read and well worth the money.

This trravel adventure gets better and better as the miles on the speedo clock up. The author starts to consider the bigger questions in his life and society (and like me ... his next job in I.T). Neat use of time travel, like... here's the small event 2 weeeks ago that lead to this situation we are in now, which makes it a very entertaining read but theres also alot of practical advice slipped in too. I thouroughly recommend it.

It;s also the first bok I've read on Kindle, I started reading it on my laptop, then iPad and finished it on my birthday pressie Kindle, Cheers Noam.
