About the Author

About the author Edward Fahy was born and educted in Dublin. He received his primary degree in zoology and an M.Sc in entomology from Trinity College and his Ph.D. in freshwater entomology from the National University of Ireland, Galway. He has worked in the civil service and various state agencies on environmental planning and conservation and, latterly fisheries management. He currently works as a journalist. Previous books were Child of the tides, A sea trout handbook, The Glendale Press, 1985 and The Brown Trout in Ireland, A fragile history Immel Publishing, 1995.
