Tanner and Beth are two deeply troubled souls, both having suffered terrible experiences in the civil war that stole their youthful innocence and enthusiasm for life. Ten years on they are both still suffering the consequences of the choices they made and how those choices affected their lives. They come together on a fateful stagecoach ride to Fort Worth. When something unexpected happens they are thrown together for a few weeks and both fight their attraction to the other. Beth has a chance for marriage to a decent man and Tanner lives a life unsuitable for a wife. But nature and the heart have a way of overruling the head and neither can resist their feelings. Many more complications and surprises are thrown at them before they find their happy ending, and it was wonderful to see Tanner not only find love, but find forgiveness and acceptance from the family he feared would disown him. A wonderful Western romance full of great characters. Texas is described so well I could almost taste the dust. Really enjoyed this story and I recommend it to all romance lovers.

Outlaw, turned hero, turns his life around with the love of a good woman.
The heroine who has had a difficult life, due to the American civil war, finds true love.
Together they heal old hurts for each other and after many misunderstandings and divided loyalties they get their happy ever after.

Catching up with some of the characters from the previous book was one of the highlights of the story. The interference from Eugenia is always going to end in tears initially, but as usual she has the last laugh!

Lots to love about this the second book in the series, passion, humorous moments, excitement and emotional angst, can't wait to read the next one.

This is well worth reading if you like western romances. Not a typical love story - both characters have major issues and histories to get over. There are some funny moments and the dialogue between the two leads is very snappy. Give it a go!

I really enjoyed the second instalment of 'The Burnett Brides'. It is different enough from the first story to keep my interest, and it quietly sets up the third instalment. There are a lot of coincidences that we have to swallow whole, but we wouldn't read these books if we didn't want to escape from reality. It is a fun book.

This 4 book series is fun to read. Light hearted and full of country love and romance with no gratuitous sex scenes. You can tell that Sylvia loves writing and all her books are un put downable. Looking forward to reading more.
