The story or Tyler and Meredith is sometimes a little rough reading, rape is never going to be easy reading, but Ms Briscoe has handled the subject well without glamourising it (I have massive issues with authors that do glamourise something so heinous). But mostly this story is really touching, the relationships not only between the two lead characters but we also continue to see the relationship between Liam and Denise and her kids.
This book had more action and more thriller-like subtext and whilst yes it might have been a little obvious as to the "who did it" question it didn't detract from the enjoyment of the storyline.
Needless to say I highly recommend this series and I can not wait for the third!! I also really like that we're not having to wait a year for the next book either, the author seems to be really on the ball with getting these books out for our consumption. Keep up the awesome work Ms Briscoe!!
We meet both Tyler and Meredith in Meant To Be. Tyler is this Harda$$ who gave Meredith a hard time since she was trying to dig up information on his MC. And Meredith was this b!tchy reporter who was playing two MC's against each other trying to get a story which subsequently results in her being raped.
We see a totally different side to these two characters in this book. Tyler took such good care of Meredith. He was so gentle and patient with her and you couldn't help but love him for it.
Meredith had been through hell and back and struggled to deal with her rape. She was so strong even when she felt she was weak and I loved her character in this book.
The characters in this book were definitely a lot more likeable, I found the story flowed better and overall I just enjoyed it more.
It deals with some tough subjects, questions what's right and wrong, but not in a gratuitous way. I loved the continuation from the first book, was kept on edge guessing who the bad guy might be, and was pleased with how the author tied it all up at the end.
I look forward to book three, you won't need to read it to answer questions left by book two, but you'll want to read it because it brings you more of the characters you enjoyed in books one and two.
Meredith is living at the clubhouse trying to recover from the rape with Tyler's and the club's help, including Denise and Liam from the first story. She has therapy regularly and eventually wants her rapist found.
The only reason I gave it four stars was because it again, like the first, was too short a story for me. I would like to have read more.
