David Lammy MP for Tottenham deserves to be heard regardless of which party you support. This is an honest book and the integrity of this politician cannot be questioned. It is people like him that will help British Citizens regardless of colour or background face the future with some degree of hope. We could all work together to create a better Britain and a better society, that is the hope in this book, which does not come up with simplistic solutions. This is a must read for all establishment people and people with influence.

An interesting and well read book that summarises the 'state of Britain' at the point of the riots and since with a good argument about the solution. Not overly political despite the author's background and criticism is given of both the Blair and Cameron governments. Could have done with a conclusion drawing together all the different arguments.

A major caveat for anyone reading my review is that I don't live in Tottenham - instead Belfast, however I found this superb book full of insight and thought provoking comment. As a native of Belfast and evening volunteer in East Belfast beyond the difference of ethnicity of the locals many of the demographics and people are similar - though discounting the 2013 and earlier riots Belfast possibly has a potentially higher quality of life due to lower overall crime and some of its fantastic schools.

It is a very balanced account of the state of the UK's young and how they have been completely disenfranchised by Government - But there wis an underline positive message that this situation is not impossible to solve.
