However, I felt let down with this book, leaving me feeling as though I had just read nothing more than an in-depth back catalogue album review.
Needless to say, it cannot be easy trying to write a biography about a man who was taken away from us just as he was beginning to hit the mainstream at the age of 26, but I did not feel as though there was any indication of Otis Redding, the man.
The book solely focused on his musical career, album by album, with the odd anecdote here or there from the likes of Isaac Hayes or Steve Cropper, about session recordings and tours, but there was nothing about Otis Redding, the person.
There is a brief quote from his wife, but nothing more, and at 153 pages the book leaves you wanting to know more about him.
That said, this book would be great if you wanted to use it as a stepping stone into the world of Otis Redding and Stax records, but a fully fledged biography it is not.

whats wrong with those kind of people? all is heresay and guesses.
the good thing is that we have much better witnesses of reputation, like steve cropper, al bell, wayne jackson, to just name a few..
looks like when somebody has integrity, faith and love like otis redding, nowadays that doesnt make a good story.
