The Other Side of Nowhere is a fantastic read and one of the must-read books around.

This is not you're typical celebrity biography, full of plastic gossip and self serving fiction to try and win readers sympathy. Danniella Westbrook has managed to pour real emotion, painful heartbreak and brutal honesty onto every page. The result is Danniella manages to take the reader through a journey of the extreme highs of well earned fame & success to the rock-bottom lows of a life destroyed by addiction.

I'm around the same age as Danniella and previously saw her as a great looking girl with fame that let temptation take her down. I now see her as a brave, amazing and complex person who lived a private hell as she tried to hide her addiction and cling onto success. (I still think she's really good looking!)

Danniella saw addiction take away her career, family, friends, wealth, personality and dignity. From the brink of almost total self destruction, she realised addiction would soon take away one last thing. Her life.

She had to fight her addiction right away and she was so ill, she had to win. A close and loving family means everything when you're in this situation. Fame, money, private clubs, red carpet events, free champagne, loads of fans and even the drug scene appeals to so many young people. The Other Side of Nowhere is the inside story into how easily the party scene can become a danger to the addictive personality.

This book takes on the difficult task of showing you how a talented but normal girl can catapult to fame, popularity, wealth & the celeb lifestyle. Then use fame, popularity, wealth & the celeb lifestyle to slowly destroy everything and everyone that matters.

As soon as I picked this book up I literally could not put it down until I had finished it. I'd watched Danniella on Eastenders for years and had heard all the stories of her much-publicised drug problem. However it wasn't until I read her story in her own words, that I realised how much she has been through and how incredibly lucky she is to be alive.

What impressed me the most about this book is her honesty. At no point does she try to shift the blame onto anyone else. She clearly accepts total responsibility for her past and does not try to make any excuses, a lesson I think we could all learn from.

A refreshing change from other celeb autobiographies, where some celebrities are clearly just trying to make money from dishing the dirt on other celebrities, Danniella is obviously just trying to promote the dangers of drug taking, through a frank account of her own experiences.

Don't miss out on this book. It is an important, inspiring read.

As a fan of Danniella ever since she first appeared in "EastEnders" in 1990, I eagerly awaited the publication of this book. It didn't disappoint. Danniella writes with complete frankness and honesty, producing a challenging and thought-provoking account of her cocaine addiction. This is truly an inspiring story of survival against the odds. The text is well written with insights into the key events and experiences that made up her desperate battle to contain her addiction. Danniella is a talented actress; this book shows that she is also more than competant as an author. I enjoyed every moment of reading. Unputdownable! Well done Danni!

This book was one of the most honest biographies I have read. Danniella is brutal with the truth about her battle with drugs and makes no excuses for her behaviour. What made me very sad was that when she reached out for help on several occasions, she was turned away. I thought it shocking that when Danniella phoned social services to take her son into care for a while so she could try and get better, they refused the moment they realised who it was on the other end of the phone. But her determination is inspiring and the story is a very good read indeed.

From the moment I started reading this book I just couldn't put it down. This has to be the most gripping autobiography I have read. She hasn't cashed in on the famous people she has slept with etc etc like they usually do. She has just told the brutal honest truth about how cocaine runined her life and how she has overcome this but still battles with her demons on a daily basis to stay clean. Going from having everything to living in squalor with a young child and still continuing to use. For those who like an autobiography this is a must read!!!

I recived this for christmas, and i know they say its the thought that counts but to be honest i was disapointed! i thought it looked aload of rubbish and i didnt even like danniella westbrook! Anyway,on a cold boring winter's day with nothing to do i decided to try and read it, after the first few pages i was honestly hooked *no pun intended* . Its a really really good read, and i now have alot of respect for danniella, she has had one hell of a life!! what a strong woman she is! I read it in about 3hours none stop! i was just fascinated by all she has been through and how in the end she got it together, its a very inspiring read! If your thinking of reading this, i urge you to do so!
