Judith Kerr is one of the finest children's illustrators , combining clever storytelling with subtly witty illustration that makes for perfect bedtime reading for the little ones. In The Other Goose, Judith Kerr does a splendid job telling the tale of a rather dappy, lovable goose called Katerina, who is absolutely certain that she can see another goose in the side of Mr Buswell's shiny car. All her efforts to catch up with the other goose fail miserably, but one night just before Christmas she wakes to find someone coming towards her carrying a goose-sized bag... could it be that the mysterious bag contains her mysterious, disappearing companion? Or is there something more sinister in the air?
The Other Gooseis a gentle, funny story filled with just about enough suspense for a small child's nerves to take , and more than enough humour to keep them (not to mention the grown-up who will inevitably end up reading it over and over again!) happy, smiling and begging for more.--Susan Harrison --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
From the Back Cover
Katerina was the only goose on her pond and she was lonely. The other goose in the side of the shiny car never came out. Then one snowy Christmas, Katerina was determined to find out…
Katerina is a wonderful new character from the creator of 'Mog the Forgetful Cat' and 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea.' This charming goose is set to join Mog, that loveable but bothersome cat and the big, furry, stripy tiger as a children's favourite.--This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title. Personally, I think the story is a little too young for her now (it's very much on a par with The Tiger who came to Tea - which she also still loves), but what can I say, there's obviously something about the story and/or the illustrations which just has her enthralled.
