Product description

New 2016 version of our best selling adventure travel pack, can be packed like a suitcase but carried like a rucksack.

The Farpoint 55 includes a 13 litre removable day pack.

Featuring a zip away ventilated mesh back system for carrying comfortably like a pack but when zipped away the Farpoint features side and top padded grab handles for conventional suitcase style use.

Features twin compression straps that can compress the whole pack, ideal if it's not quite full to stabilise the load. They also double as secure attachment for the included 13 litre day pack. This is well featured itself with a top pocket, two side pockets and laptop sleeve. This can be clipped to the front shoulder straps to allow access for valuables, tickets etc.

Access to the main compartment is from a large zip around opening, with lockable zip pullers, internal compression helps to keep your clothes in place after packing. Internal mesh pocket for separating clothes

Set to continue in the best selling list the Farpoint is built for adventure travel, mixed hotel, hostel travel and pretty much anything you can throw at it.

This is a great rucksack and was perfect for my backpacking trip around Australasia. The front opening made it super easy to repack- really handy when moving between different hostels every other day! The size was perfect for my 2- month long trip as it was slightly small- this stopped me over-packing like I usually do and saved me having to carry around a ridiculously sized pack on my back (my friend carried an 90L backpack and she could hardly lift it). Delivery was prompt although there was probably a bit too much packaging. Couldn't recommend this product enough though!

Not disappointed by Osprey!
I've had a Farpoint 40 for a few years now and used it as a work bag and for aircraft carry-on baggage which is where these bags excel. Being able to zip away all the straps and use the side handle is a feature every manufacturer should implement.
I can't remember it leaking, nothing has broken or frayed and so I've bought the '55' model.
This version has a zip on day bag which, disappointingly attaches 3/4 of the way around so the space between the bags can't be used for stowing more goodies. I'll put a hydration pack in there so the space isn't completely wasted.
I bought the Small fitting bag as I'm tall and thin. The straps all adjust nicely to my body, only the shoulder strap tensioners slip so I'll tape them in place along with the other spare ends.
I have no reservations about recommending the Farpoint bags. Sure, you can buy cheaper but this is definitely worth the money.

I was travelling through Germany for 11 weeks, moving from city to city and staying for a few days at a time. A travelling blog recommended this bag for such a trip, partly for its size but also for the additional, separable day bag. I was, however, initially hesitant to purchase it because of the price tag, and I was trying to stick to a strict budget on my trip.

I have had absolutely no second thoughts since it arrived. This bag is fantastic. It is big enough to fit all your travelling essentials while not being so big that it becomes cumbersome. The designers thought it through very well, as both bags come with just the right number of storage compartments and features. The straps on the larger bag, for instance, can be hidden away and the day pack zips up with relative ease. The support is also very good, and I can wander around for an hour with a fully-laden bag with few problems. Longer, however, might start to become an issue.

If you can get this bag for less than £100, it is a no-brainer.

Just returned from a 6-month trip around South America and the USA. This Osprey bag was perfect. Really sturdily built of great materials, exceptionally well designed. The way it opens - fully, not just from the top - makes packing and unpacking really easy. It's not got loads of compartments, but that was fine, I was using packing cubes anyway.

It's comfortable to wear (as long as you have it fitted properly so that most of the weight is being carried on your hips via the hip straps), and though not as suited to long hikes as some other bags, it's perfect for travelling and carrying between airports, bus stations, train terminals and hostels. It's got a useful carrying handle and the main shoulder straps can be packed away to make it appear smaller - I managed to get it on board at least one plane as carry-on.

I rarely used it as a single pack, usually keeping the day pack separately, simply because when the main bag is really full, it bulges out a bit too much to connect the day pack. But this wasn't a disadvantage for my needs. The daypack itself was also well designed, great for walks, cities, carry-on on planes and buses, etc. It's got lots of useful compartments

I'd recommend this bag incredibly highly for anyone going travelling.
