This series is worth a buy for a few giggles- particularly at the animation of the Rhino running, or the entire "Farewell Performance" episode- but is best viewed in small doses, as the endless animations of our intrepid hero swinging through the city, the recycled voice cast, non-comic villains (anyone remember "Dr." Magneto?!) and dull scripts get old fast. While I will be buying this out of fondness for a few things (that fantastic jazz score, Mysterio's appearances and the giant bin that ate the city among them), rest assured I'll feel guilty about it.
Thank the lord you can buy this series separate from the later efforts, where things took a much odder, darker turn (how about those red, green and purple skies, eh?) before sinking to the lows of the final episodes, which stole animation liberally and shamelessly from older episodes and even other cartoons!
