HASH(0x92bfc6fc) out of 5 stars Visions of pink plastic spendor 9 July 2000
By linda v. moore - Published on
Format: Paperback
If you are a one of the many lovers of phoeniclpteris ruber plasticus, (pink plastic flamingos), this book will delight you. It is the story of the progression of the p.r.p. from its birth in Leominster, MA, to its spread throughout the United States. The book is the collection of photos summited to the company on the 40th anniversary of the flamingos' entrance into Amercian culture. Writer Tom Herzing gives a delightful tongue-in-cheek dialog of the dear birds; the photos chosen are better than your average bird photos. THE ORIGINAL PINK FLAMINGOS;Spelndor in the Grass, makes a wonderful addition to the usual coffee table clutter of 'real art'.

I thought I was ordering plastic yard flamingos and got a book instead. The book was actually OK so we just decided to keep it instead of dealing with a return.

Note to self: Don't try to order on Amazon after 6 beers.

HASH(0x92bfb82c) out of 5 stars Great Coffee Table Book 27 Jun. 2011

While ordering two pair of the Don Featherstone pink flamingos 2 Pink Flamingos Classic Retro Signed Garden Statue Decoration Pair Made in USA, I added this book to the cart. What fun! I read it for the first time in the company of a friend and we giggled. Both products are eligible for free shipping, so the combined price made for a very reasonable total. If you're into the kitsch of it all, this book is a must-have!

HASH(0x92b9a4c8) out of 5 stars Outrageously funny tacky art 20 Nov. 2013

I bought this as a replacement for an earlier purchase. One of my friends laughed so hard at the photos that I gave her the book. I liked them so much I bought myself another copy.

If you are into tacky pink plastic flamingo art, this book is for you. Tacky is the operative word. Don't look for any of the photos here to be hanging in the National Museum of Art, or the Louvre. These are just plain FUN.

The photos depict lighthearted scenes using the ubiquitous plastic pink flamingo. How about eight of them with tree branches for antlers, pulling a sleigh? I'm in the holiday spirit just looking at that one!

HASH(0x92bfb730) out of 5 stars Certainly Tried 2 Oct. 2012

Format: Paperback
Some of the photos are pretty good however overall this book tries entirely too hard. I found myself rolling my eyes rather than grinning with delight.
