This book is the second in the Version 2.0 series - having read the first which is more of a brief taster about all that is to come, I was drawn into the world the author has created and needed to know what was going on. To put it very briefly, the story involves a brother and sister duo who die in this life, only to wake up on a mysterious underground Island, where Proprieters live out their endless lives. This book goes far back into the past to explain how this came about and why, so much of this book is back story in order to explain the current events. As I read it I just kept thinking, this should be on the TV! In the same realm as something like Lost, I can really see it as a long running TV series where most of the time you don't know what is going on, but are hooked enough to keep coming back for more. The book ends with a cliff hanger, so i am now eagerly awaiting the third installment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Can you stand all the feels? 30 Oct. 2013

Always a vivid storytelling, Adams has delivered yet another enthralling tell, leaving the reader wanting more. Expanding on the base story, enjoy the twists and turns the Proprietors have taken throughout history, and discover what causes them to break.

Simon's part of the story was particularly well told and will tear at your heart, no matter who you are. It would be easy to dedicate an entire book just to him. I hope that book three can bring the same emotional dynamics into Birdie and Brian's story. Adams has left a major cliffhanger as a tease.

Overall, well worth the read. Adams is definitely an author to add to your list.

5.0 out of 5 stars Origin of Kings; a fantastic read! 30 Aug. 2013

Having read Version 2.0 and getting acquainted with Birdie and Brian, I was more than eager for the second book to be released. When Origin of Kings became available I immediately ordered it. CM Adams has completely drawn me into the lives of the people of Kings, and the story never has a slow moment.
I now eagerly await book three!
Would I recommend this to my friends and family that read? Definitely! If you enjoy science fiction that seems plausible, these books are for you!

I loved the first Version 2.0 & the Second book Version 2.0 Origins of Kings is awesome! It answered a lot of questions, but left a lot that are still to be answered. I can't wait for the next book! Hurry up C.M. Adams I'm waiting!!!

Both of these books are also loved by my 12yr old daughter too so its nice that the language and content is okay for her age.
