Our Organic Whey Protein comes from the milk produced by grass fed cows with the freedom to roam outdoors on grass pastures all year round in the Schleswig-Holstein region of Northern Germany. Thanks to the close working relationship we have with our farmers and cheese makers we're able to trace every batch of Organic Whey Protein right to the source.
Organic whey is the only ingredient we use, so there's no soy and no sweeteners or flavourings and it's completely GM free. The whey is filtered and dried at low temperatures, resulting in a high quality non denatured whey protein powder. Most of the fat and lactose is removed, while the protein and much of the calcium and other beneficial nutrients are retained.
The welfare of cows and other farm animals is extremely important to us, so in addition to maintaining high standards of animal welfare when it comes to sourcing our whey, we're also giving 25p to Compassion in World Farming for every pack, helping to improve welfare standards for cows and other farm animals in the UK and around the world.
Note, 12th April 2016:
We've now had our Organic Whey Protein tested for heavy metals and the results are as follows:
These are the lowest detectable levels our lab (or indeed any lab we contacted) was able to test for. For example the Cadmium test result tells us that none was detected at the lowest testing level of 0.005 mg/kg. So therefore we know that there is less than 0.005 mg/kg. These results compare favourably with heavy metals testing carried out on other protein powders on the market, in fact we were unable to find results from any other protein powders that were more favourable these, which is great news.

I originally wrote a review stating that this organic whey was better than that from Pink Sun - see below. However, now that the nutritional breakdown for this OPC product has changed markedly (whilst the marketing noticeably hasn't), I’m less convinced that this one is superior to that produced by PS & have thus adjusted my rating.
The reason for this is that on receiving my second pack of organic whey protein from OPC, I noticed that the protein:carb ratio has changed significantly & is no longer as it’s purported to be on Amazon’s web page. This is relevant as the calories have increased (from 367 to 378 per 100g), the protein is down to only 73.5% & the carbs have more than doubled from 3.5% to 7.6% - I’ve posted a photo to show how the label/nutritional breakdown has changed.
But that's not all - the calcium level has crashed from the stated 1755mg to a dramatically smaller 430mg per 100g. Similarly but to a lesser extent, the phosphorus has reduced from 873mg to 410mg.
As an aside, it also appears that it’s no longer approved by the Vegetarian Society as their logo has disappeared from the front of the packet (although on the rear, it does state “suitable for vegetarians”).
ORIGINAL REVIEW (Now Amended)
I'd not realised that organic whey was even available, although I've been drinking the milk for years. So, I read the reviews & examined the nutritional breakdown of both the above products & still couldn't decide which to go for. At the time of purchase, Pink Sun was 21 pounds for 420g in slight contrast to this more expensive German-cow version at 22 pounds for 400g.Read more ›
It arrived well packaged and in good time. Thanks
