as usual with oregon scientific they have made a great clock that is radio controlled so always displays the correct time and adjusts itself for British summer time (denoted by 'DST' probably because the largest market share will be in the U.S.A. where they call it daylight saving time). The projection is excellent, not too bright but easily visible at night displaying the time and indoor temperature simultaneously you can angle this forwards and backwards of the clock and rotate it through 180 degrees so it is orientated correctly no matter what direction it is being projected. The projection is also focusable.

I have had this clock for years and miss it greatly when I don't have it (eg. on holiday). Oregon Scientific is a company that has been making innovative products for a long time. The clock project the time to a place of your choice, either a ceiling or wall, so it is easy to see at any time of the night – and the light is so gentle it does not disturb sleep. You can adjust the focus, brightness, placement, angle and more to get it exactly where you want and you can see it in dim light or darkness, but it does not create 'light', so the room stays dark. The clocks are controlled by satellite, and while this makes them show exact times, adjusting an hour for 'summer time' etc, but this means it is better to buy a clock in the country you will use it in, although I have taken this abroad and it did find another satellite after a few days.
Buying a Oregon Scientific product is nearly guaranteed to give you a feature no other similar product offers. They produced the projecting clock many years ago and are still leaders in this field. I have tried others, but they are not nearly as good.
This clock also shows the temperature and date and has a back light you can press a button to use. There is an alarm with a snooze button, so it has everything other clocks have but much more.

My partner and I own the RM308 version of this clock, which is fantastic. However, we inadvertently bought this version for his mother and discovered that the projector's numerals indicating time and temperature are identically scaled, with the temperature displayed above the time. This is a really disappointing design as, when lying in bed, it is the time that one generally wishes to know at a sleepy glance; not the temperature! We have managed to use tape to cover the temperature display on her device, but in hindsight would certainly not have chosen this model above the RM308.

This clock synchronises the time at 02:00 each morning, but for some reason recently it has failed. Since the clock can be manually set, this in itself wouldn't be too much of a problem if not the fact an alarm goes off at 02:00 to tell you about this. The alarm will then go off on the hour every hour until the time has synchronised or you have thrown the thing out the window (as I had to do last night.)

The clock works perfectly, took a few minutes to receive the radio signal after installation, however has had no problems since. The orange light is very fit for seeing the time at night and the adjustable projector works (almost) perfectly - I say almost because adjusting the focus will blur very slightly after the projection goes off. It is a great clock which comes at a reasonable price. Would buy again.

Like other customers, I bought this as a replacement for an older model which stopped projecting. With this model the projection is far too bright, and, as other customers have noted this model has a tendency to freeze for no apparent reason & needs a reboot (twice in 3 months so far). I like the fact that I don't have to keep setting the alarm every day but I wish there was a setting for alarm only Mon-Fri since we are getting fed up of being woken on Saturday mornings at 6 a.m. Lastly, I wish with all my heart that the only time the wretched item beeped was when the alarm was actually sounding - why would you want a beep any other time ?

It is unlikely that I will keep this product if it malfunctions again - I would advise potential purchasers to give this one a miss and spend a little more.

I bought my first one back in the summer.

I really liked this clock - it had everything I wanted, 24 hour display, radio controlled time, nice clear display, indoor temperature, good projection display. It looks very pleasing on the eye.

But from the day I received it, it had this intermittent fault where the snooze button would cause the backlight and ceiling projection lamp to come on and stay on. The front panel display would then "freeze" at whatever was displayed at the time. The clock would then not respond to any button from that point. The only way out would be to either remove and reinsert the batteries or press the reset button with a small pointed object.

More information: I set the date and time manually because I wanted the clock to run in 24 hour mode, not 12 hour mode which is the default. Once in 24 hour mode I'd let the radio controlled signal then set the correct time. I operated the unit on batteries.

There seemed to be no pattern to when the problem would strike. I could press the snooze button a few times and it would work properly, then it would freeze. Or I could leave it for a few hours and it would freeze on the first press of the button.
During the 1 day I had the clock it froze 5 times, including twice in the middle of the night when the last thing I wanted to do was mess about resetting the clock to get the display and projection to turn off.

Interestingly, the last time it froze in the middle of the night I didn't bother to manually set the time to 24 hour mode, I just let it default to 12 hour mode. After that, the next 5 or so presses of the snooze button worked properly.
