And there is something particularly satisfying about tearing a sheet from its orange spine when you have finished writing. It pulls away easily without any danger of being ripped, yet the pages beneath remain firmly glued together. Turn the page over to write on the other side and there is little sense of writing over the previous side's pen work, an irritation and distraction for me when using cheaper notepaper. Orange Glue is actually the perfect notepaper!
The off-white paper with the white lines is a pleasure to behold, it is a wonderful idea. Writing on it with a fountain pen is not so very wonderful.
I have attempted 18 pens with 18 different inks on the first sheet. The wettest pen/ink combination leaves a fair amount of feathering, another less so.
14 of them them cause from medium to heavy bleed-through, making it completely impossible to write on the reverse side. 4 of them offer from very little to minor bleed-through: the finest nib, the driest ink ...and Diamine's old-fashioned "Registrar's Ink" written with a broad nib, for some reason. Fine nibs do however make a mark on the reverse, as do pencils.
I am not at all happy with this product for the purpose I acquired it. On the other hand it nowhere says that the paper is fountain pen safe.
A substantial amount of high quality paper stock. The WhiteLines range is brilliant for a traditional writer/note taker, allowing for a fab writing experience and heightened comfort from the contrast of your ink produced by toned paper and the WHITE lines. However, for those that are more tech savvy and have explore technologies such as Evernote and alike this product is a perfect addition to your productivity workflow. The taking of photos, scanning or photocopying of your notes from this paper come out brilliantly - as the lines disappear and the toning of the paper fades to white, leaving you with clear and crisp and versatile notes.
I am not sure the next time i will need to reorder this product (due to the vast amount) though i most certainly will when the time comes. And do take a look at other WhiteLines ranges, there is some really interesting things.
