3D Cleaning

For optimal brushing results, Oral-B Professional Care removes up to twice as much plaque as other toothbrushes by pulsating 20,000 times and rotating 7,600 times per minute, oscillating in and out to thoroughly surround teeth, breaking up plaque and moving it away.

Professional Timer

A short stuttering sound at 30-second intervals, which you can hear and feel, reminds you to brush the four quadrants of your mouth equally for a thorough consistent clean. A long stuttering sound indicates when the dentist recommended two-minute brushing time has been reached.

Why Use a Rechargeable Brush?

  • Over 75% of dentists now recommend using a rechargeable toothbrush
  • All Oral-B rechargeable toothbrushes are clinically proven to remove more plaque than a manual brush
  • Rechargeable toothbrushes help eliminate human error during brushing, which can lead to more serious gum problems

I've never really been too fussed about an electric toothbrush, simply because I'm tight and don't want to spend much on a toothbrush.
And despite the fact my partner has had a Braun toothbrush for years, I've never bothered to join the home clan.
Anyway, I've given in and now the wonders of hindsight make me wish i bought one sooner!

I've never had bad teeth, (my dentist tells me I'm looking after them well), so again the "expense" of an electric one was off putting. But the fact is, this brush has given me far better results despite my dentist's praise! I always had an area of my front teeth that suffered from plaque, and no amount of brushing would remove it - that would be done by my dentist. But, literally after three uses of this brush, it's removed it! I'm impressed just by that alone. Aside from that, it massages the gum-line, and managed to clean right in between my teeth, which feels great after you've cleaned them.

The only real drawback is the cumbersome method of brushing. Obviously you don't have to scrub back-and-forth like a normal toothbrush, but you are holding an electronic device in your mouth and moving it around, which basically means you dribble into the sink while cleaning. But, I can live with that if it continues to clean my teeth well!

I can't tell you how long the heads last for, but I know a pack of replacement are about a fiver. I'd happily buy these every other month.

So, that's about it - I'm happy, it works very well, and i'd recommend it.

I'm a fan of the electric toothbrush, I had one around 10 years ago but it long since stopped wanting to charge and I fell out of the habit of use.

This oral-b brush gives a lovely clean and you can really feel that your teeth are "squeaky" clean after you use it! The pulse timer goes off every 30 seconds so that you know to move on to the next section of teeth. (It surprised me that I felt I needed a bit longer than 30 seconds though - I end up spending longer than the recommended 2 minutes on my teeth now!)

My main issue with the brushhead provided (you get 1 included) is that it's just too hard for my sensitive teeth (I think it's the yellow floss action bits in the brush). My dentist recommended that I use a soft brush so I need to investigate what brush heads are available before I carry on using it on a regular basis. But the good thing is the ability to use different head types on the rechargeable base.

Overall a great brush - and a good price :)

I have never used an electric toothbrush before and have always been sceptical about their efficacy. After using this Braun product I must say that I am a sceptic no more. The sense of freshness and cleanliness you feel after using it I can only compare to the difference between a dry electric shave and a refreshing and stimulating wet shave (I hate electric razors). I have only given it 3 stars however because I do feel that the 18 hour charge time is a bit excessive when you only get about three-quarters of an hour brushing time in return. Furthermore the fact it doesn't come with a normal 3-pin plug is a bit inconvenient because you have to buy a suitable adaptor to get the thing going in the first place and to recharge it. These drawbacks apart I am now a convert and I do believe that there is a visible difference in the whiteness of my teeth.

I bought 2 of these for the wife and myself. After initial charge I was happy with performance as it did a better job than my old electric brush. The wife was a bit unsure at first as the extra power did make her gums bleed but after a few days she was also happy with her brush. The only drawback is the instructions claim that the brushes would last a full week on a complete charge, both me and my wife are having to recharge brushes every 3 days which is a bit of a pain as a charge takes 18 hours.
Apart from battery life we would recommend this product to anyone. Update still have to charge brushes twice a week only now have to share 1 charger as wife's charger has stopped working just after guarantee run out. Would have thought a name like Braun would have produced better quality charger.

This brush is a replacement for a much more expensive model (Triumph 4000) and while you can tell it has lower power, it's still an excellent brush.

    However, there is a problem.

This model is twice the price (at the moment - Aug 2011) of the same brush body with a different head. It gets worse as the head the other one comes with a head I would consider as better. As someone that flosses regularly (daily!) the head on this brush is OK but I miss the 'cupping action' of the smaller head; it's certainly not a replacement for good old-fashioned flossing. The other challenge for this model is that even if you fancy trying the Floss Action head you can buy one for MUCH less than the difference between the two brushes. Of course if you do get this model you can buy standard heads if you don't like the Floss Action, but you've still spent more than you needed too.

The bottom line - if you're new to electric brushes then get the Pro Care 500 brush that is half the price, you won't be disappointed. Oral B make great brushes and my dentist always comments on how good my teeth are looking and Oral B electric brushes are all I've used for 20 years.
