This little book "FROM OPTIMISM TO HOPE" is especially written for people who like to read something spiritual, but do not have much time. He/she will find for nearly every day a little more than a page with uplifting thoughts on different subjects. Sometimes I read it even in bed. Who does not appreciate a little encouragement at any time of the day.

I enjoyed reading these small essays because too they reflect Rabbi Sachs deep knowledge of and committment to the Jewish tradition. I also believe in his general approach of friendliness and openness to the non- Jewish world.
These talks make an excellent ' light read' and I recommend them highly.
His insight, knowledge of history, philosphy and Jewish history make this book all can appreciate in this modern world.
