First the cons - lens quality is not as good as marque lenses (obviously), the fixed aperture (f8 at 650 and f16 at 1300) is rather slow and restricts depth of field, due to push/pull nature of the zoom focusing at long focal lengths requires a stretch, close focusing is at the long end of the spectrum, no electronic connections (but what do expect for the price), requires a solid tripod for best results (a cheap one will lead to shake) and worst of all the lens bag cannot be closed with the T2 mount attached which is very annoying.

Pros - focal length is longer than most marque lenses, lens quality which though not perfect is decent, the attachment of a lens to scope adapter makes it into a decent telescope (I suppose the downside of that is I now have a big heavy telescope and camera adapters which I no longer need), the use of a T2 mount means that for under £10 you can use it with any make of camera, it is nothing like the size and weight of the 500mm+ of marque lenses which makes it far more portable and best of all it is less than 1/20th the price of marque lenses which do not come close to its focal length.

Accept the restrictions and you have a good wildlife lens which is within the price range of most enthusiasts. Obviously the big marque lenses will give you more speed, camera connectability etc but at a heavy cost in pounds and weight. This is definitely something I do not regret buying

Works well with being a long lens it must be on a sturdy tripod, With it being a manual none generic lens you have take a couple of shots first using guess work and see what the picture looks like, can't be used in a rush.

Good value for the money but not suitable for my type of bird watching, hard to follow in flight with only manual control.
I would also like to suggest that you abandon YODEL as a carrier they do your company image no favours at all.

This is exactly as good as it says on the packet. Fits fine, works fine and gives a photograph as detailed as any amateur would need.

This is a very good lens for an excellent price, if you aren't willing to spend ££££'s on a so called marquee lens and you have an eye for focusing this will definitely fit the bill. Others have said a tripod is a must and yes a tripod is certainly helpful but I have taken over 1,000 images with this lens all handheld and have been more than happy with the results after a little tinkering in Lightroom.

For what it is this is a cheap lens, but if you haven't had experience of a manually operated lens before be prepared for a learning curve. This lens is not designed for quick snaps, but for the more discerning photograph where patience is a virtue. Although having experience of this type of lens, I have only taken a few photos and am very please with the results. My efforts so far include flora and a moving aircraft. The real art is mastering the focussing. For anyone on a tight budget it is a good investment, but be sure you know what it is going to be used for. Definitely value for the money, especially for the patience and long awaited nature shot.

You need a good quality tripod with this and a remote to trigger your camera, but a brilliant lens.
