A four CD box set of Opera Metal for under 8 quid (less than 2 quid per CD !). Discs range from 74 to 77 minutes long.

Contains Opera Metal Volumes 3, 4, 5 and 7 (I thought at first the wrong disks were in the box because there is no mention on the box / description that this is what it contains, but it matches the track listing so far) - so if you have these already there's no point in buying it. But , if you don't - why wait, 4 albums for the price of one (cheap one at that).

A great range of music that may be grouped under the heading 'Opera Metal' , superb introduction to a good variety of artists that no doubt I shall explore individually.

The artist/ track /album information is encoded on the CDs so your car CD player etc can display it - essential for compilation albums for identifying that track you particularly enjoy.

Only pity is that it is not include in Autorip but at this price can't complain.

Addendum: now below 7 quid !!! - why wait ??? Opera Metal on the open road - nothing beats it

This 4 disc set is great value for the price £7.00 when you consider that buying the four albums separately would cost over £30. The music is excellent if this symphonic metal is your thing. But, and this is my only quibble, the set consists of Opera Metal vols 3, 4,5,&7!!!!! It seems quite ludicrous to put out the discs out in such a disorderly fashion. It would,ve made more sense to keep the set consistant and give us vol 6 and omit vol 7 instead of jumping from 5 to 7!! But can,t really complain too much because of super price. Some fab songs in this set so definitely worth buying if only to check out the less famous bands. Fave songs - Leaves Eyes, Delain, Xandria,s "A Prophecy Of Worlds To Fall" is worth the price alone if you don,t already have their Neverworld,s End album.

4 CD,s in a package,at a price not much above a single CD album. If you like (mainly) female fronted metal bands, then this is for you. There's so much to listen to,and to describe here, that I cannot write a full review, without writing a book. It's absolutely fab. All you need to hear from full range operatics to metal growling. All backed by full on metal musicians and full orchestras(generated by keyboards and synths). If your into Nighwish,Epica,Leaves Eyes, etc,go get this. 60 tracks in all, with 2,in particular that will really blow your mind(in my mind anyway) Kingdom Of Sand by Silverlane, and Scarborough Fair(yes the folk song),by Leaves Eyes. This 4 CD package is a total stunner! To digress for a moment. I recently saw the new look Nightwish, with Floor Jansen as front woman -- and they and Floor were right at the top of their game. Therefore,if your a Nighwish fan, go and buy the new DVD or BluRay,Showtime,Storytime. It a absolutely superb. Floor has brough Nightwish not only to back of form, but there's a new harder metal sound to the band now. Nightwish do feature on Opera Metal, but with Annette Olsen as vocalist. Digression#2. For Nightwish fans, Tarja's 3rd solo album,Colours In The Dark,is definitely better than Dark Passion Play and is as good as - if not better than Imaginaerum. Opera Metal - The Ultimate Collection does exactly what it says on the tin!

Truly a brilliant collection and well priced too for a 4 disc collection. Brilliant tracks from Nightwish, Epica, Dreams of Sanity and Sirenia. Its introduced me to a whole load of new bands and is a brilliant buy if you are just getting into this genre.

This was great value for money, & gave the opportunity to listen to bands that I'd probably have never have listened to. There are such a lot of great songs on here. I thought that with it being a collection that it would probably contain a lot of not so good songs along with some pretty good ones, but it was so cheap for 4 discs I was willing to give it a go. I was very pleasantly surprised as I really liked most of the songs & absolutely loved a lot of them too. Personally I'm a big fan of Epica, Nightwish, Tarja, Within Temptation & Evenescence. Hope there will be more released like this. Great value & Great songs.

my knowledge of 'opera metal' or 'symphonic metal as it is perhaps better known is very limited. Apart from major acts such as epica and delain, i know very little of the acts on this 4 cd collection. For anyone in the same position as myself this is an absolute must, the music is brilliant from start to finish and has opened my eyes and ears to alot of bands i was previously ignorant of. I am even going to see two of these bands when they tour next year(Leaves eyes and Within temptation). For anyone with even a basic knowledge of this kind of music my advice is BUY BUY BUY

Firstly- the price is well worth it, about two pounds per CD is amazing.
You get volume 3,4,5 and 7 each disk with 15 tracks or so. The case is good and sturdy- (reminds me of vhs cases).

I bought this initially because of the range of bands it had, considering I've heard a few of them but not many.
I would recommend this as a good introduction for those just getting into this style, as then you find your favourites and go from
there.

Overall, great project with great value!
