This made me both cry with laughter and feel sad too - because of the uniquely hilarious silliness of the opening scenes and the rampage that Dick Emery created as Charlie Tully. The sadness was the result of seeing London as it was when I was young; a much less exhausting and overcrowded place, where things seemed much quieter than now. It also reminded me of the people I used to watch Dick Emery with, who are gone. However, it was great to remember how Princess Anne was the "it" Princess of her era - tough as boots but very good looking and enjoying approaches from would-be suitors such as Idi Amin; the brutal African dictator. Dick Emery kicks off in the role of Charlie Tully in the guise of a smooth Diplomatic Mandarin from the Foreign Office attempting to arrange the betrothal of the Princess to the son of a Mafia-connected Italian motor-industry boss. Naturally the arrangements are in exchange for a very large "dowry" from the suitor's family - entirely in cash. Charlie and his accomplice head to Heathrow for a flight to Switzerland with the swag they've conned from the now-furious Italians; but although his friend gets on the plane, Charlie just can't resist a quick con in the departure lounge before taking the flight. An endearingly-Churchillian bulldog has been left tied to a seat; temporarily awaiting its absent owner. An American woman starts raving about the dog's charms to her husband and eavesdropping, Charlie Tully seizes the moment; spins a yarn and sells the dog to the easily-gulled couple; pocketing 200 dollars. Charlie is just heading to catch his plane when the couple, now with the dog, run into its real owner, and a helmeted policeman alerted by the scuffle, hoves into view. Charlie is caught and banged up in jail for 6 months.Read more ›

Format: VHS Tape
A silly but mildly funny comedy following Dick Emery as cheeky conman Charlie Tully trying to find the number of a Swiss bank account that has been tattoed on a young woman's bottom.
Ronald Fraser offers a neat cameo as the lecherous Reggie, and a suitably over-the-top Derren Nesbitt is London gangster Sid Sabbath, furious to learn that his own sister has been bedded by this randy con.
Genuinely funny moments are pressed between Emery donning his array of disguises, and indulging in silly voices, and knicker-snatching, while the women (Julie Crosthwaite, Cheryl Kennedy etc) can do little more than feign interest as they bare their bottoms.
Not so much a Carry On as a Hurry up, please ...

Hilarious comedy starring all the unique creations of Dick Emery!

Dick Emery plays 'Charlie Tully' - a clever con man whose every 'yarn' is believed. Not missing an opportunity, Charlie sells a dog that does not belong to him and ends up in prison. After conning the Prison Officer (and half of the other Prison staff too!) he gets out, and is in pursuit of his former partner's string of girlfriends, so that he can 'expose' their backsides in order to piece together the number of a combination to a safe - part of which is tattooed upon each of these girls' nether regions!

Everyone who enjoyed Dick's Shows and characters will love this - they're all here, including; 'Mandy Dunnit' as a trainee Police Woman and 'Hetty' who makes the Porter (Jimmy Gardner) run for his life in an hilarious scene when she utters those famous lines in spinster-ish frustration: 'Are You Married'?

Pat Coombs also stars - alongside lots of other big names and so many familiar faces you will lose count!

Great British Classic!

I have bought several items from Amazon and have never had to return any item.

Well done Amazon I will return.
