Product description
Product description
The cartridge is becoming precious to the LP record fan. The phonograph record is charged with static electricity at a cumulative rate while it is played. The charged record continually absorbs dust in the air. As the frictional pressure between a groove and a stylus tip during playing a record is exceedingly high, the micro dust in a groove sticks to a stylus tip in compressed condition. Thus the micro-dust-contamination of the stylus tip is accelcrated through playing a record. Zerodust stylus tip cleaner made of newly developed ultra soft plastic is unprecedently high performance cleaner and easy to use. As the cleaning element of the stylus tip cleaner is softer than a baby skin and 15 times more elasticity, this mysterious material will never damage a delicate stylus.
How to Use : Lightly press a stylus tip once or twice onto the cleaning element, and pull it up. The element accepts the tip very naturally and finely removes dust over the tip for noise and muddy free sound. Dust now stick to the cleaning element leaving no scum thanks to so designed ingredients of the element material. Its container case top works as a magnifier convenient for precise check of the tip condition before and after cleaning.

I spent a fair amount of time researching this amongst other stylus cleaners, some of which were half the price of this or less.
£46 is no doubt a lot to pay for a small tub of tacky gel, but what made up my mind was a lot of great ratings on various sites and also a video review I found of a guy who said he's had the same tub for 10 years.
I've had it 2 days and I'm impressed. It can sometimes take a few goes to get off stubborn bits, but it does get the stylus clean with a little patience.. I'm not talking hours of work, just a few minutes. I use a torch and the magnifier in the lid of the tub to have a good look.
I've also used the magnifying glass to look at the gel, and I can see the tiny fibres and whatever the black specs are that have been sucked from the stylus. Apparently to clean it you just run it under water, so I'll be trying that soon.
On my record player I'm using a Rega Exact cartridge, and it seems to find every bit of debris in the record groove, even on records that I've cleaned. I think I'm going to be using this gel a lot. My summary is it works, maybe not first time but after a few dunks it's gets the job done. I'm impressed.

What you get is a lump of gel 2cm in diameter with a lid which doubles as a magnifying glass. The long and short of it is that Zero Dust works and works well, removing some residue which cleaning with a dedicated carbon fibre brush and alcohol did not. Why then have I deducted one star? Value for money: I cannot get over what it actually consists of!

Seriously good! Hard to believe how effectively and simply this product cleans the stylus. Having cleaned my long cherished vinyl using Disco Antistat (surprisingly effective) I use this product in conjunction with a dust removing carbon fibre brush to achieve incredibly smooth sound reproduction on a Linn Sondek LP12 recently subject to an £1800 upgrade. Better than any stylus cleaning 'solutions' tried over the last 40 odd years. I would recommend this as a must buy for anyone wishing to preserve their vinyl and enjoy clean and silent sound

It appears to remove most of the clingy gunk from the stylus but not quite all. Some wee hairy bits get left behind even after a couple of dunks. It’s probably THE most overpriced piece of soft grungy clear soft stuff in a box with a plastic magnifying plastic you’ll ever buy. There are, as I now know, significantly less expensive ones on the market.

A marvellous product I use this every time prior to playing a record. What is scarey is how much dirt it sometimes collects. This is despite deep cleaning all records on a regular basis. A much safer way to keep your stylus/cartridge in tip top condition

It’s not often that I write product reviews but I do have to say that this product deserves five stars. In short, this stylus cleaner is an easy to use product and it does an excellent job. I have just used this with my Rega RP10/Apheta 2 set up and the sound from my vinyl has been completely revamped. Until recently I was using a similar but cheaper product and I did not realise how much gunk was actually surrounding my Apheta 2 until I cleaned it with this. Very happy indeed.

I've tried a bunch of other cheaper products, brushes ect, this is by far the best solution.
The dome shape really helps with some of the more awkward stylus configurations. I simply place the dome under the resting position and slowly lower the tone arm. Its tackyness fades with use but this can be restored by cleaning it with warm water.
Its a bit expensive bearing in mind the compound it's made from but should last many years
