Product Description

Review

Ninety eight curiosities that have helped shape the texture of Paris both past and present. Each sight is the touchstone for a story. This is a delightful way to be led around a city. A great read and a handsome tribute to one of Europe s loveliest cities --www.eurocheapo.com

In a world where places become ever more similar, it is an absolute joy to stumble on the 'Only In' Guides. The author brings to the series the gaze of the enquiring outsider. A refreshing alternative to the prevailing tide of uniformity favoured by too many travel guides --Hidden Europe magazine

As a long-term Paris resident, I completely recommend this book to those who'd like explore this fascinating city beyond the '1op 10-must-see-tourists-sight'. Only In Paris covers an extensive collection of quirky, unusual but worthwhile sights. Paces you'd never know existed, and that you would not have found on your own unless a local took you there. Amazingly, this book contains places that i thought were my personal secerets and the author has a real knack for finding off-the beaten track places. It shows you that Paris is an amazing city to explore that offers far more than the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe.

Love, Baguettes, Croissants, Architecture and Art.

There are many words that can seem so short but help to explain a city's allure. Paris is one of those magical places that means so much, to so many different people.
To me its one of my favourite destinations on earth. Be it strolling beside the River Seine on an autumn morning, the sun just glistening into view, and the cool morning air is punctuated by the sounds of coffee shops
being readied for the fresh forthcoming day. Or standing atop the Eiffel Tower in summer watching the horizon marry the clean blue sky whilst myriads of miniature people, hustle and bustle upon the streets below.
Its a city of enviable beauty, a place where you will find gems in every area. A place of contentment just to simply, be. In addition to this gorgeous top layer though is an hidden layer, where for the adventurous, your
stay in Paris will suddenly become, somewhat even more magical, memorable and special.

Paris is full of secrets and hidden spaces just ready to be explored and savoured like a an exquisite French wine. This is where Duncan's book comes in!

Written in a lively, evocative and highly readable way. Duncan has once again chosen nearly 100 sights for the intrepid traveller to search out, and by doing so gain an even greater appreciation and love for this
wonderful and romantic city. I can heartily recommend this new book, its wonderful and all the fabulous photos are taken by Duncan himself. If you are the kind of person who is craving for more of a city's history after going
on a guided tour, do yourself a massive favour and search out this book.

The checklist to take on a successful trip to Paris is simple. You don't need much. Just take yourself, hopefully a loved one.

Bought as Christmas present for my husband, who spent most of the day immersed in it and said he loved it... then on New Year's Day he found that he'd already got it! Grrrr!
