Product description

The fourth series of the Peckham-based wheeler-dealer sitcom. In 'Happy Returns', Del (David Jason) is horrified to think that Rodney's (Nicholas Lyndhurst) new, nineteen-year-old girlfriend might well be the fruit of his youthful loins. 'Strained Relations' sees the Trotter clan gathered for Grandad's funeral (following the sad passing of actor Lennard Pearce in real life); but how keen will Del be to take in long-lost seafarer Uncle Albert (Buster Merryfield)? In 'Hole in One', Albert tries to help the boys out when they don't have enough money for Grandad's headstone. 'It's Only Rock and Roll' sees Del taking over as manager of Rodney's recently-formed rock band, while in 'Sleeping Dogs Lie', the Trotter brothers agree to look after Boycie and Marlene's 'puppy', Duke, while they are away on holiday. 'Watching the Girls Go By' sees Rodney in need of a date for the Nag's Head party after making a rash bet with Mickey Pearce, and in 'As One Door Closes', Del finally gets the chance to become a millionaire when an old friend cuts him in on a lucrative business deal in Australia. But will there be a place in the new set-up for Rodney and Albert? The fifth series of the Peckham-based, wheeler-dealer sitcom. In 'From Prussia with Love' Del (David Jason) sees an opportunity for a nice little earner when Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst) inadvertantly takes in a pregnant German girl. 'The Miracle of Peckham' sees Del exploiting a miracle at the local church. 'The Longest Night' has Del, Rodney and Albert (Buster Merryfield) taken hostage in a supermarket by the gun-toting Shadow. 'Tea for Three' sees Rodney and Del falling out over Trigger's comely niece, Lisa. 'Video Nasty' finds Rodney's chance to make a community film ruined by his double-dealing sibling. Finally, in 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire', Del gets the chance to realize his lifelong dream, but is he prepared to leave his family behind in order to move up in the world?

Very pleased. Bought for the originally broadcast version of A Royal Flush. I would recommend that if you want to see the original version then buy this instead of the heavily butchered 2004 UK version as all the best bits have been left in. Very quick delivery from the U.S.

Series 4 & 5 are very good (of course), but the main reason I'm adding this review is to tell you that both of the specials ("To Hull & Back", and "A Royal Flush") are the original, uncut versions that are currently unavailable in the UK. In particular, "A Royal Flush" runs about 20 minutes longer than the UK version Only Fools and Horses - A Royal Flush [DVD].

I have to say that Del-boy's embarrassing behaviour at dinner really is painful to watch, and I can understand why it is said that John Sullivan wanted it removed before the original broadcast. However, if you want the original, full version of "A Royal Flush"(and don't mind re-buying Series 4 & 5, "To Hull & Back", "Dates" and "The Frog's Legacy"), this is probably the only way you'll be able to do it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brings back memories 27 Jan. 2017

I am originally from the UK and I wanted to show my boyfriend a show I watched when growing up. He hasn't watched them yet, but I opened the DVD as soon as it arrived and binge-watched them all. Sure, some of the jokes are dated but this show can still make me laugh! Just love Del-Boy and his younger brother Rodney. Plus, my uncle used to lived next door to Buster Merryfield who played Uncle Albert so watching him always brings back happy memories!

5.0 out of 5 stars This time next year Rodders........ 13 Sept. 2004

This is my all time favorite British Comedy. I own all of the episodes on Brit VHS and love them. I fell in love with the Trotters when I was stationed in England in the early 90's. I am sooo excited that they are bringing out the rest of the shows.

I wish there was more info. Which specials? Will it include the Millenium Specials? They are great! This is the most viewed and best selling Brit Comedy in the history of the BBC.

Not to be a spoiler, but Rodders and Del Boy both get married and you get to meet Uncle Albert (The old man of the sea)!

Will not disappoint!
