My Onkyo system arrived from Amazon the day after i ordered it thanks to the Prime delivery offer which was free seeing how the first month of using this service is free ! this was a huge bonus .

The set up was relatively easy as previous people have mentioned , colour coded wires make it a breeze,and the fact that the Onkyo system detected the TV ( Sony 42" Bravia lcd ) made it straight forward too- no hassles at all
UNTIL i tried to get the speaker wires to the other side of the livingroom ...this was a terrible job made harder by the fact that the wires are not long enough , WHY do they insist on making the wires too short ? another meter of wire wouldve been great TWO meteres wouldve been brilliant ! not much to ask for when i spent £314 on this sytem .
Also the woofer wire was short too and allthough i managed to get it to the corner of the room i did struggle and it isnt exactly where id like it as the wire is tight .

Also -the sub woofer is quite big and chunky , it also needs its own power supply which can be a bonus but can be a pain too if your already putting plugs into every extension going .

We also needed extra HDMI cables so buy one extra , i needed two for the set up i have...maybe including HDMI cables is too much to ask for .

SO for those reasons im giving this system 4 stars cos simple things like a meter extra on the wire length could make life so much simpler for the user.
The sound is superb tho .., ive yet to get the settings to the way i like them , but anyone buying this sytem will love its more than capable sound levels and clarity .

I saw this equipment demonstrated in a London store but wasn't prepared to pay their price. Onkyo have a very good reputation for quality and the facilities on the receiver were what I wanted. All items in this package are quality in both build and performance. The speakers seem a little lightweight at first but that belief changes when they start to perform! The receiver itself leaves many other manufacturers way behind when it comes to build standard - excellent. The facility within the receiver to use one HDMI cable to connect all your other equipment to your TV is so sensible AND successful. I have yet to get involved with 3D but I will have the sound system for it when I do. All in all, this really is an excellent buy; easy to connect, simple to operate and it gives a great performance, nomatter what you use it for. A very good purchase that has changed our viewing significantly. Rates as a best buy for me!

Having researched the market to find a home cinema for my PS3, settled on this one due to the favourable reviews and I am not disappointed. It is very sleek and looks great with your existing equipments. The sound quality is absolutely wonderful and particularly blu ray movies and HD channels sound brilliant and make you feel as if you are in the middle of the action. With HDMI connections there is a on screen setup menu which is very useful to manage your connections which is extremely simple. The surround speaker wires were fine for my place, but wires running around the house dont not look that good and next time may go for wireless surround speakers !!

And Amazon's service was brilliant as usual..Ordered on 22nd Dec and received on 24th December though I was told 'll receive it after Christmas.

In all a great product if you want a home cinema experience at a reasonable price.

This is a superb piece of equipment!

I can't fault this in any way, the quality of the build is first class as are the features and sound performance. I've paired this with a Samsung Blu-Ray player and a pair of Sony SSF6000 4-Way Floor Standing Speakers - also from Amazon - as I wanted to use this for music also without having to add an additional pair of 'B' speakers. I've also attached my PS3/hard-drive for mP3 playback. The enhanced MP3 feature on the receiver really does add extra depth for compressed music and played back throuh the Sony speakers the sound is crystal clear.

I'd highly recommend this system to anyone.

As always delivery was excellent. This is a failry simple system to set up. i would recopmmend connecting the speaker cables to the back of the receiver first before putting it in place. Connecting to my existing TV and DVD player was easy and everything worked straight away. It took me a little time to work out the best settings for sound but it is the first Home Cinema set I have owned so that is probably me.
I would certainly recommend this system.
