Matching Impeccable Sound Quality with Unrivalled Practicality
Integrated amplifiers have definitely found their place in the audio world. With some compelling advantages—space-efficient size, straightforward connectivity, fewer cable requirements, performance levels equivalent to those from separate pre- and power amplifiers—the music lover can now build a cost-effective and convenient music system. Consequently, many manufacturers are putting their best efforts into the design of these components. The A-9155 integrated amplifier is a superb example of audio design focused on user requirements. Based around discrete output stage circuitry, a well-regulated power supply and robust build quality, the core engineering is in place for a finely balanced music system. Incorporating up to five audio components—such as a CD player, a tuner and a turntable through phono-equalizer circuitry, and an iPod through an external dock—the A-9155 is an excellent choice for those wanting something more from home audio.

However, when i connected it up and turned it on i soon realised i had just bought a bargian. This thing has the ability to go very loud, with a great bass and treble.
It also has a pure direct and loudness button too with noticible differances. It can do the likes of Black Eyed Peas with there bass heavy songs and the likes of Eve Cassidy with total ease !
You also get a remote with it with batteries supplied.
I highily recomend this product to anyone looking to buy a cheap but great performing amplifier.
I don't know too much about amps because this is my first PROPER one. This amp is very powerful as it can do 55watts per channel (which there are two). It also has alot of inputs and outputs (for tape, line/ Dock, CD , PHONO, TUNER and a few more which I cannot name on the spot). This also has a lot of functions (Volume, bass, treble, speakers A or/and speakers B, mute and a thing called 'DIRECT' which I guess is ONKYO's personalised tuning to get what they think is neutral sound).
The sound of this product is very good, as it has more power it can drive speakers easily and use the speakers to they're full potential, it also does not distort sound which is good, so if the sound does distort, it is probably someone putting it on full blast overiding the speakers.
It is a huge amplifier, mainly for cooling purposes (because amps generally need to cool down a lot) and as it is huge it takes up a lot of space, so it is impossible to put it on a shelf.
But here are a few of my niggles on this product-
It tends to delay a lot to turn on and change from the 'Direct' sound equalizer to your own personalised sound preset.
It also conatains a button called 'LOUDNESS' which so far helps nothing and does nothing (I cant tell if it enhances loudness or limits loudness).
But overall I do still love the product and has exceptional sound quality for it's price.
if you want crisp and detailed sound it won't disappoint you,
if you want a full sound with solid/controlled basses you will
feel more or less impotent if you don't match it properly with
sensitive speakers: don' t even try to pair it with "hard" loudspeakers,
the result will be a very very very flat sound, a real catastrophe!
The ideal coupling is with Klipsch speakers... very sensitive!
Don't think the "Loudness" button will make miracles, it is for
sure an unreal function on this amplifier.
Its weight suggests you a certain thickness of the product but I
think it comes eminently from the heat dissipators.
Remember again: you can get something good...and you will... only with
very very appropriate loudspeakers!!!!
Initially I thought just another run of the mill
After running in for a couple of days, and using
q.e.d. bi-wire cables connected to my Tannoy's I
thought there is something special here! It has
the ability to portray music in a very realistic fashion
presenting good vocals over a wide soundstage.
I would reccommend this amp. as a very credible budget
The 'Loudness' button DOES make a difference but should
only be used for after midnight listening.
