5.0 out of 5 stars Kevin & Lexi are both heroes in my book! 29 May 2014
By Carrie Marie - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Book 2 in the Chadwell Hearts series lived up to my expectations from reading book 1. It was a fantastic story! I normally do not like the name Kevin for a hero - I just know a couple of Kevins, and while I love each of them for various reasons, they don't scream "book boyfriend" to me. However, Kevin & Lexi meshed so well together (like oil & water at first, but you know how pretty that looks!). I loved that their life experiences prior to meeting made them the perfect other half for each other. Each one had what the other needed.

Kevin & Lexi's relationship starts out as antagonistic, just a job kinda thing. And then they become friends, the whole time pretending to fight their attraction to one another. *laugh* I say pretending, because they would each be thinking doubts about the sanity of moving forward, but their actions would immediately call them out on that line of thought!

And there are a couple really, really great surprises going on in this story. Loved that!! I normally can see certain things coming, but this gave me a few AHA! moments that were awesome! : ) AND! Not only do we get all up in Kevin & Lexi's heads, we also get glimpses at what's going on w/ Axel & Tess, love love love!

So, 5+ stars, and looking forward to the next books in this series. Definite keepers!! : )

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED this book! 30 May 2014

I really loved the first book in this series "No One's Angel" and the second book in the series did not disappoint. Lexi has also become one of my favorite female characters right along with Angel. I could really feel the chemistry between Kevin and Lexi and I loved reading their whole journey. I'd say this book is not your typical love story. There is eminent danger for Lexi since there is a trial in the future that involves the drug cartel (if you read the first book, you'll have a better understanding of what's going on). You don't have to read the first book to be able to read this one, but I would recommend it because that book was really good too.

Obviously since there is possible danger for her, there is a section of the story where you feel on edge because you can't help but wonder what's going to happen and there's even a twist that I wasn't expecting at all. And I have a feeling who the next book is going to be about and I can't wait. Kelly Walker never disappoints and her stories keep me enthralled. If you are wondering if you should read this book, you should. I highly recommend it along with the first book too. You'll be glad you did.
4.0 out of 5 stars No One's Hero is a great read for those seeking action and romance at the same time 24 July 2014

No One's Hero covers the story of Kevin and Lexi. Based on what I still remember (Well, it's been a long time since I read No One's Angel so forgive me LOL) Lexi is one of the witnesses against Angel's ex-boyfriend, Nick. Nick's men are in search for Lexi while he's in jail so Lexi really needs some sort of protection. This is where Arion kinda hired his friend, Kevin to serve as Lexi's bodyguard while she's in college. Lexi didn't want this, but she can't do anything about it so she just hates Kevin just as she hates the whole situation. Yet, she still can't deny the chemistry that instantly builds up between them.

Lexi is tired of her life living behind the shadow of her twin sister who is long dead and gone. She's excited for college so she can finally break free of her parents and enjoy her life. But she got it all wrong. She's not coming to college alone, Kevin will be there to guide and protect her. Well, if I were Lexi, I wouldn't care at all. A bodyguard as hot as hell like Kevin? Why not! WHY. THE HELL. NOT. She wants to be free, yes. But she and Kevin can be friends, right? Or more than that. But Kevin knows his limits and he cannot go beyond them or Arion himself will kill him. Not literally, but he'll still be dead.

I had fun reading about Lexi and Kevin's cat and dog fights. Lexi may have been stubborn at some times but Kevin never gave up on her. He's determined to protect her whatever happens. Anyway, Lexi and Kevin had a hard time getting along with each other but they eventually figured it out. They got along with each other, had fun, and went all the way to those hot, steamy and romantic situations. Well, at first, Lexi just wanted Kevin to cross one of her checklist: college sex. But Kevin never took advantage of Lexi. Aside from this, I love how the author did it again: combining romance and crime without getting the story confusing for the readers.

No One's Hero is a great read for those seeking action and romance at the same time. Not a lot of action per se, but the plot twist will definitely keep you going. I totally recommend this book and I am excited for the next installment, No One's Surrender!
5.0 out of 5 stars My Hero Kevin! 23 Oct. 2014

I read this in under 24 hours. It's quite addicting even though I don't usually read books about kids in college. It took me a few months after buying No One's Hero to actually READ it. It sat in my kindle until now. I was worried it would take away from my beloved Angel & Axel but No One's Hero just makes A&A's love stronger. Just seeing how much stronger Angel is makes me grin! Because I can relate to her survival story. I still like Lexi too. Thank you for writing No One's Hero! I love it as much as book one! <3

2.0 out of 5 stars This wasn't as good as the first story and some of the scenario's ... 9 July 2014
By Sandy Milan - Published on Amazon.com

I said in my review for No one's Angel that I'd give a second book in this series a try and I have. This wasn't as good as the first story and some of the scenario's were even less credible than those in the first book. The h was a witness to the villain's attempt on the life of the previous book's h. She is now finished school and going off to college but the H from book 1 wants her protected. He hires the H to be the h's bodyguard, very much against her will as she's longing for some freedom. The h has felt a huge burden ever since her twin died soon after birth. Her mother has issues and everyone has always been over-protective. The H is damaged because his first love had been killed and he felt responsible for not protecting her so he never wants to love again. He goes off with the h to college and blows hot and cold with her from the start.

+++Spoilers+++
I nearly fell over when I learnt that the H was only about 21 or 22 max. We know that he is 3 years older than the h, who is nearly 19. However he is portrayed someone as older because he has his own business plus he'd been in the Marines when his first love was killed. I just didn't find this at all credible since he vowed never to love again. WTH?? I'm not going to go into some of the other ridiculous stuff that went on with the h's room mates and college mates. The final part about her twin just ruined the book for me.

I won't be buying any more of these books
