Thanks to the super-fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, the Oneplus 6 allows you to search apps with minimal or no load time or switch between gaming, work and browsers with lightning speed. With 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, everyday tasks can be done faster than ever - and with extended battery life. Thanks to OnePlus Fast Charge you can write, surf and play as much as you want and never have to stop filming again just because the battery is almost empty. Endless charging overnight is once and for all a thing of the past. The charging process is equally fast and reliable. To take crisp, unblurred shots, optical image stabilization (OIS) is required. This returns with the OnePlus 6. OIS physically compensates for shaking and shaking movements and stabilizes the photos. With the new super slow motion feature, you can incorporate dramatic effects into recorded clips. At 480 frames per second you can capture the action picture by picture in all details. The OnePlus 6 is incredibly robust, offers a real premium feel, oh well... and it's made of glass. Both the front and the back are lined with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for an incredibly solid yet supple look. A subtle curvature provides seamless body optics that play with light and shadow, creating great patterns and accents. offers a real premium feel, oh well... and it's made of glass. The Speed You Need
We want your phone to always be fast & smooth, just like on the first day you used it. Both hardware and software have been optimised to create one of the best flagship experiences.
Fast & Smooth
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and the Adreno 630 GPU make OnePlus 6 a complete experience. 4x4MIMO reaches incredible speeds up to 1 gigabit per second. And with 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of UFS 2.1 and game mode, lag becomes a thing of the past.
Equipped with two 16 and 20 megapixel cameras, both with f / 1.7 aperture, OIS for excellent low light performance, Portrait Mode and the ability to shoot up to one minute in slow motion at 480fps, the OnePlus 6 camera gives the perfect shot.
One of our most popular features, OnePlus Fast Charge offers you a day’s power in half an hour. And that speed is not just when the screen is off. It's just as fast while you're using it, so you do not have to pause that movie you're watching for even just a second.

It works with my Samsung gear smart watch; calls and WhatsApp. However, i did have to get a 3rd party SMS as theirs didn’t callobrate with my watch. But no problem, there’s loads of good google apps for you to use on this phone, and loads of YouTube videos to watch to help you customise it and use it to its full potential.
I decided to try something other than Samsung and Apple as they cost way too much, and contracts are getting longer and expensive. The phone updates straight away out of the box, and oneplus has an app that you can transfer all your pictures, apps, contacts, music across from any android phone, (possibly Apple too), called oneplus switch.
It has face recognition and fingerprint scanner at the back, also pattern unlock if you need to. All these features are quick and responsive. I am not a tech head, but if i can use it and figure anyone can. My kids did not help me do anything to the phone, i did it all myself. It is truly exciting to get a new phone, the only issue is that you have to reregister with all your apps again, like banks, social media and anything that requires a password. This isn’t the phones fault, just how it is.
The only other thing i will complain about, is the lack of choices regarding cases. You get a clear case in the box, with charger and plug and also a SIM card holder opener (this is dual sim). There are loads of good looking cases for Apple and Samsung, but not a lot for this phone.
I would recommend this phone, but like all new tech it is obsolete in 6 months. So if you don’t want this, the 6T is the same price, but with a few quirky changes. If however you want to show off your status, buy the phones that are twice as expensive but does the same as this.
Update. 3 months on. Unfortunately phone started playing up so started to regret choice. But live chat OP they suggested some things then recommended hard reboot. I backed up everything and since that time no problems. Syncs with my car now, 4g working fine and now love my phone again. I think after new update it wasn't happy. Downside to reboot had to log on all apps again.
The product arrived quickly (within two days, ordered over the weekend). I delivered it to an Amazon locker, which seems to be the best way to get your items without having to reschedule and wait for the rude drivers.
The box was handled with care, it wasn't squashed or damaged in any way. The phone was exactly how I was expecting it to be, even better. All the positive reviews do it complete justice. It also came fitted with a screen protector, which saves me some money and worries when using it.
The device feels very light, but sturdy enough to fit well in the hand and pockets. It takes about 5 minutes to do a basic set-up and another half an hour to install all the necessary apps and sync all your accounts. OnepPlus Switch app helps with getting all your messages, files, and apps from your old phone through a wi-fi type of connection. Careful, it did not transfer my SD card contents nor my gallery fully, so you might need a Bluetooth transfer or computer connection for that.
The screen is absolutely beautiful, and the software matches it too. Screen unlock works very fast, and gestures are among the main selling points for this phone in my opinion. Everything on this phone was designed with care and consideration for the user, from the general shape, to the buttons (they press really nicely), ports (yes, it has a headphone jack), camera, back panel, and the edges. I don't like to keep it out of the case too much (which is another + for Oneplus, as they included a slim silicon case in the box so they spare you the anxiety of having to worry about dropping it in the first week or so) but it still looks beautiful.
It comes with Android 8.1 pre-installed, but the update to Android Pie is readily available the moment you are done with the basic installation. I'm still enjoying 8.1 a bit before updating, but I heard that 9 is quite solid and bug-free.
Battery life and speed so far are unmatched. I charged it to 85% one night and it lasted me for a day and a half on moderate use. Charging to 50% takes around 20 minutes anyway, so you can charge it on your lunch break. It even charges really fast when using it, so that's another plus. So far, I haven't had any overheating issues with it, even when doing gaming, heavy app switching or charging.
I chose this phone for the value for money, software update promise, speed, build quality, and design. I'm looking for a device that can last me, as I don't like to change my phone every year. My previous phone, a Galaxy S5 lasted me three years before slowing down, and it still works fine (although quite slow I would say). The difference from the S5 to the Oneplus 6 is crazy.
So far I love every bit of it, and I'll update this review with any other details I'll discover.
I updated to Oxygen 9.0.1 and so far it works perfectly, it even solved some bugs from the 8.1 version. Gestures are more intuitive. I also stopped animations from developer mode and everything works blazing fast. No overheating whatsoever.
Battery tips: use dark mode theme, switch internet, location, nfc, bluetooth off if not needed, turn on battery optimisation for all apps, use read mode if browsing reading apps/email. Get in the habit of constantly checking the apps running in the background and switching them off. Battery drain doesn't accelerate within the last 30%. First time I drained it completely, It took about 12 hours (overnight included) to deplete battery at normal use with normal screen settings.
Battery charge test from 0% (device switched off, room temperature): 58% in half an hour, 75% in 42 minutes, full charge in 92 minutes
~fingerprint scanner doesn't recognise partial fingerprints (tips, sides) and you can't register the fingrerprint twice so you give the software more data
~for facebook and fb messenger in full screen the conversation bubbles glitch and crop weirdly at the top of the screen. Full images on facebook app have a weird glitch at the bottom of the screen. Haven't noticed any issue with snapchat
~not all media apps (Netflix, Mubi) can go in full screen mode, like YouTube
~volume is way too silent in the bottom 4-5 levels
However, when I hold the phone in my hands, it feels noticeably cheap. In addition, the speakers sound really bad and it makes me cringe quite hard. Furthermore, when I listen to music using my wireless headphones, the Bluetooth connection crackles - it is not a problem with my headphones because that didn't happen when connecting to my old phone or my laptop.
Taking the price of the phone into consideration, I would say that I am not blown away by this phone but it is an adequate upgrade to what I had before, so I will make do with its imperfections.
