What a great book, I've got a lot of cookbooks and this one is my new "go to" book and already looking well thumbed. All the photos look appetising and not many books I can say I've made around half the recipes in a few weeks. Ok, so you need to spend over a pound to make most of the recipes as you can't buy 2 rashers of bacon or a single chicken thigh etc, but freeze what you don't use and save for the next time. I've made loads of the recipes and each and every one has impressed and can be easily doubled, quadrupled etc. Some really good kitchen skills to try your hand at too, deboning a chicken leg and making a ballotine was a first for me. A little fiddly but worth it for a restaurant quality dish. Also great for using up leftovers, a few grams of mince, ½ a tin of tomatoes, couple of new potatoes rolling about in the fridge, no problem it's all in here. Can't wait for the next one.

Bought this for my daughter who is a student and it's like her everyday bible of eating

This book has literally revolutionised my weekly menu planner. That sounds a bit grandiose but it's true. Every recipe has been easy, cost effective but most importantly utterly delicious. I bought both of Miguel's books and I'm working my way through them happily and enthusiastically. Even my kids aged 4 and 5 are tucking in and tolerating my additions of a little bit of heat and spice. Can't recommend these books highly enough - if you're in a rut of the same weekly meals I'd say give them a go. I'm so pleased I did.

I purchased this book after reading the reviews as I love cooking. As it tells you in the introduction, some items are store cupboard staples, others you may have to purchase specially, but once you have them, the cost spreads over the meals you make. I haven't tried one yet that I haven't liked. The beauty is that they use very few ingredients yet have fantastic flavour. I add extra vegetables or salad to introduce my daily helping of vegetables, which I enjoy anyway. I would thoroughly recommend this book.

Quick, cheap, easy meals for young and old ,alike. Especially good for those on a small income (Pensioners). Proves you can provide good, nutritious meals at a reasonable/sensible cost.

This is a great cook book. I have used this cook book more than any I have before. The family have a look and there is always something they like and I end up cooking. Also it's very easy to add your own little bits in with other cook books I'm never sure where or if to add other things

I have both books.(The other is fast and fresh) If you are on your own but don't like trawling through a long ingredient list then this is great for you.Read more
Really love this book. The fact that all of the meals are under £1 to make means that I don't mind trying them on my girls, even if they don't like them I haven't wasted much...Read more

Very handy book. Have tried a few recipes and all very nice. Simple to follow.
One of the more useful cookery books I have bought. The ingredients are cheap, widely available and all the recipes actually produce tasty and quick results.
