However, this is a platform game and they can get repetitive. There's just one save spot, back on the boat, so however far you explore you're going to have to walk all the way back to save. Pretty simple storyline, get stuff to make stuff to unlock stuff and explore everwhere. There's also a Versus mode if you just want to fight each other.
If you like One Piece it's something for the collection but maybe check out the TV shows first if your looking at it for the first time.
The structure of the game revolves around visiting islands and beating a halfway boss and then a final boss, along the way you must collect items and fill a number of power bars in order for Gabriell a new travaling companion to use to create a path for you to progress further though the island. Apart from the islands there is also your ship (Thousand Sunny) where you can create tools with Usopp such as fishing rods and pick axes, cook food with Sanji to level up your characters and make medicine with Chopper, for obvious purposes. As Funimation don't have the rights to One Piece in the UK and the game didn't get a US release the dub is Japanese with English subs, but most people/fans are more familiarized with this dub anyway so won't cause any confusion.
The bonus fighting mode gives you the option to play as your usual 9 Straw-hat pirates, plus any bosses/minor enemies you defeat in the main adventure mode become unlocked here too. The fighting mode is almost as addictive as the main adventure!
A definite must get for One Piece fans, though any fan of general Action, Adventure or Fighting games will find this game greatly enjoyable too.
