"A compelling page-turner which kept me reading well into the night. This book will make any woman look at her best friend with more than a touch of suspicion . . ." (Jane Corry, author of MY HUSBAND'S WIFE)

"One Little Mistake is a great page-turner: entertaining and thrilling, right up to the dramatic ending. I love how the book deals with the theme of motherhood – what can happen without a mother’s love and support, and the fine line between being a responsible parent and one that makes a silly mistake with far-reaching and devastating consequences . . ." (Claire Fuller, author of OUR ENDLESS NUMBERED DAYS)

"A tense and utterly engrossing story" (Tammy Cohen, author of WHEN SHE WAS BAD and THE BROKEN)

"A brilliant, gripping read. I couldn't put it down!" (Claire Douglas, author of THE SISTERS and LOCAL GIRL MISSING)

"A page-turner that explores how friendship, mothering, marriage, and events in the past can collide in unexpected and tumultuous ways" (Beth Miller, author of THE GOOD NEIGHBOUR and WHEN WE WERE SISTERS)

"A novel that might make you look at your closest friend with suspicion, One Little Mistake is a dark, gripping page-turner that had me reading far too late into the night..." (Sarah Vaughan, author of THE FARM AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD)

"A book you pick up and can't put down again until you've read right to the end" (Cari Rosen)

"A dark and compulsive read - deftly plotted and chillingly believable" (Juliet West, author of BEFORE THE FALL)

"A dark page-turning debut of friendship, deceit and lies." (Woman & Home)

"Will one mistake shatter their lives? A cleverly written story about how the past, and one moment of regret, can catch up with you in the most unexpected of ways" (IMAGE magazine)

"Intriguing and meticulously crafted . . . the gradual unfolding of consequences is beautifully done . . . An accomplished novel by an imaginative story-teller." (G. J. Minett, author of THE HIDDEN LEGACY)

"A tense, intriguing and meticulously crafted read that is very hard to put down." (Sunday Post)

"If you're going to read this book, you might want to set some time aside, because once you've begun you'll find it hard to focus on anything else." (WI Life)

"Absolutely LOVED this. What a page-turner!" (The Unmumsy Mum)

"I was hooked all the way through . . . One of those books you may find yourself still reading at two am." (Magnet magazine)

Well written and the characters seem real. But not far on from the beginning you begin to see plainly what the little mistake is going to lead to. That spoiled it for me when the suspense ended. I was really disappointed and couldn't recommend it to anyone.

I bought this book knowing nothing about the author; I just liked the sound of the blurb and the reviews. I was not disappointed at all.
I soon found myself fully engrossed in the story and even making audible comments at certain times - something I rarely do. The characters are superbly drawn and I found the writing style very engaging. The storyline was well developed and I found myself wanting to pick up my kindle to snatch the next chapter to see what happened next. That's the sign of a good book.
I was convinced I was reading a full 5 star book until we find out what happened what the extent of Katya's relationship with Luke. Personally, I thought that was a stage further than was necessary ...... I am trying so hard not to provide any spoilers about this part of the book. Accordingly I have to deduct a little and 4.8 stars would be my option, if I could.
At just under half way through the year I am being truthful in saying it is the best I have read in 2017 thus far - and I read quite a lot.
Whereas I am not a fan of disecting and analysing books for hidden meanings and the like (I can't abide "what did the author mean by this ....?" which has unfortunately put me off Shakespeare for life as I hated this approach in my schooldays) I strongly urge book clubs to choose this book. You will not be disappointed and you will have a field day with the main characters.
Here's hoping the next book by Emma Curtis will be just as good.

I really couldn't put this down, it wasn't until the last few chapters that I realised how dark the book was! Then I stayed up all night to finish it. As always wanted another chapter! Brilliant first book from Emma Curtis. Looking forward to more

This was a very gripping read. Just as the title says, this novel is about one little mistake; one moment, one decision, one risk, one lie and from that, Vicky's life spirals out of control. One mistake turns in to another, a bigger lie, a web of deceit and cover ups, an uncovering of tensions that lurk beneath - hidden before and now rising to the surface.

It's debatable just how little Vicky's one mistake is. Popping out of the house for a few moments on a whim -to chase a dream, or possibly feed a minor obsession which has sprung from the need to 'fix' her home life or 'have it all' - Vicky leaves her baby Josh alone in the house so she can quickly view a new property that's just come on the market. She's only going around the corner. She's literally going to be ten minutes. It's the middle of the day. He's asleep in his cot. He'll sleep for at least an hour. He'll never know. No one will ever know. It'll be easier than taking him around to view the house later - later when a stream of other couples have viewed it and maybe put in an offer..... I'm sure there's not a mother out there who hasn't fleetingly had this same thought or been momentarily tormented by this choice. But it's only ever stayed a thought, an idea that's quickly dismissed. A choice that isn't actually a choice.

But what happens if you do actually act on this idea?

One little mistake. The worst mistake of Vicky's life. When she returns home she disturbs a man in the middle of a burglary. He has Josh. After a fight and a desperate attempt to save Josh, the man pushes his way past Vicky and leaves - Vicky has saved Josh but she also knows her 'little mistake' has cost her the happiness, safety and security of her family.

Terrific book. I thought it was so well written, not a wasted word. I was cringing as Vicky got deeper and deeper into her web of lies. The question is,how many of us can claim to be 100 per cent good parents? And watch your friends!

This cracking story has everything you need for a thriller. Can you really trust your best friend? Maybe now I'll censor what I tell my friends, not that there's anything bad - honestly! Great read, great characters, great book. A cracker!

I thoroughly enjoyed this very thought provoking book. I couldn't put it down, so much so that I spent yesterday just reading one more chapter which turned into several, then spent last night reading the rest!!
Go on, give it a try.

This book was an okay read but it was slow-going and by no means a gripping read as advertised. There was some suspense and it was interesting enough to carry on until the end to see what the outcome would be. Editing was not brilliant as there were some quite obvious mistakes which should not have been missed.
