I cannot even begin to explain how excited I was about One Hundred Proposals. Holly Martin is one of my favourite authors, and she’s quickly becoming VERY popular in the book world with her WONDERFUL stories.

Suzie and Harry are best friends run a website that comes to the aid of anyone wishing to create the ULTIMATE marriage proposal. Suzie however, has no idea what her perfect proposal would be, so Harry decides to start up a blog with the mission of one hundred proposals to Suzie, in order to find the perfect one. The only problem with this is that Suzie is in love with Harry, and the one question that Suzie wants to say yes to, is the one she can’t…

WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE how much I loved this book! After I had finished I genuinely just wanted to lay on the floor and gush all my feelings and emotions about this BRILLIANT novel out. Ohmy One Hundred Proposals is like Heaven in a book – it had everything I was hoping for and so much more. As soon as I had finished I cuddled the book tightly to my chest and wanted to re-live every moment all over again!

The romantic in me LOVED the idea of there being one hundred proposals, I get excited about anything remotely to do with romance so a lot of the time I was squealing with delight. Holly Martin also writes with such humour and I was constantly smiling and giggling.

Harry….oh Harry you make my heart ache! I spent a lot of time swooning over Harry and wanting him to propose to me! Harry is such a fantastic character and he is so easy to love and fall helplessly in love with. I loved his personality, his proposal ideas, I spent the book wanting him to be mine! Suzie is just wonderful, I liked her from the very first time I met her on the pages.

One Hundred Proposals is absolute perfection. I’ve been trying to write this review for a while and that’s pretty much all I can come up with. It was a joy to read and a wonderful story. I’ve read and loved Holly’s previous two books but even then, over the last few months when I’ve seen this book get so many amazing reviews, I did kind of wonder how such a simple concept for a book could be so beautiful and impactful. But any doubts I might have had (though I didn’t, not really) disappeared from about page one. The idea to this book is simple and the characters are ordinary people with no overly-dramatic stories to tell – they travel to normal, yet gorgeous, settings and everything felt natural and believable. But all this combined, and with some sweet little touches too, made One Hundred Proposals an incredible book.

Best friends Harry and Suzie run a proposals website – where they help create the ultimate proposals for their clients. But as Harry decides to gain some more media attention and build their company up, he sets out to find the perfect proposal by planning to propose to Suzie a hundred times until he finds the one. The issue being, of course, that Suzie is secretly in love with Harry and not being able to say yes to his proposals is not an ideal prospect. It really does not matter if you think you know where this book is going because it is stunningly written and Harry and Suzie were two characters I loved instantly.

The story starts straight away – no unnecessary build-up of irrelevant things which have happened in the past, no long wait before we discover the way Suzie feels about her best friend… The book just flows faultlessly from the beginning and it was warm and endearing and truly beautiful to read.

Suzie and Harry are best friends and business partners, running a small company that helps people plan and create romantic and imaginative proposals. In an effort to boost business Harry embarks on a project where he will propose to Suzie each day for the next 100 hundred days in a bid to find the most perfect proposal. Soon the pair are jetting off around the world, all expenses paid as the proposals are featured in a daily blog; the proposals ranging from small intimate gestures to the spectacular and against some of the most beautiful backdrops in the world. There's just one problem; every time Harry proposes, Suzie's heart breaks just a little more as she wishes he was proposing for real. Will she be able to keep her true feelings to herself and survive the torture?

The central premise for One Hundred Proposals is a common one; two best friends who are secretly in love with each other but too afraid to reveal their true feelings. What makes this book different and interesting is the proposals theme; and I did enjoy reading about all the various proposals, especially as Holly Martin paints such wonderful depictions of the exotic faraway places that Harry and Suzie travel to. From the bright lights of New York City and Vegas to the remote beauty of Canada and the sandy beaches of Mexico to name just a few, the book is packed full of different locations; and it really does feel as if you're with Harry and Suzie on their journey.

Harry as the male lead was easy to like; kind, caring, funny, warm and clearly absolutely besotted with Suzie. There was a vulnerability to him too, and as a reader you begin to understand him more when he starts up a secret blog to share his true feelings.
