4.5 Stars

On holiday with her friend escaping something we don't quite know how bad at the beginning.......Melissa pops to the bar on her own and her eyes meet Derek.........hot, muscly, bearded, 'let me show you the desert sky' Derek.

Well.......holy freaking hotness, sparks and smoke coming out of my e-reader! What ' let me show you the desert sky '
actually means these days is.......let me do very very explicit things to you and make you cry out and whimper over and over again!

Jam packed with drama, there is an undertone of what she is escaping from back home and why she can't commit to anything further like her friend Elaine & Patrick who she meets on the mini break, (who also just happens to be Derek's partner!)

The one week stand continues and it is a tug on your heart strings as you are routing for them, it is a budding romance and the chemistry is freaking electric! but you know she has issues to deal with first at home and boy when she gets home............

Sloan, her husband, 'he is who she went away from'...........All I will say about him is Tia has him down to a tee...HIM, I had chills when he walked in !

Nothing is plain sailing from that point on, there are twists and it is a twist that floored me! HOW COULD HE????? how could anyone be so cruel?????? Can't say anything else as it will spoilt it, but it is very intriguing.......

I had a great time reading this, the week holiday is witty, lol moments, very sexy! And melt your heart romance........but with some twists, drama and some tough subjects too when she got home....I was on the edge of my frigging seat!

loved the epilogue! !

A fan of Tia's !

Loved this book. I kept reading until I finished. All housework stopped. I really enjoyed the mysterious Melissa and how you were led into the romance straight away before you discovered her past. Great read highly recommended.

Fast paced sexy read!
I was hooked from the start and struggled to put it down.
Loved the characters....Melissa was broken but strong, Derek the strong alpha male, they both connected on another level.
A quick easy read :-)

I'll start out by saying that this book has a lot of graphic sex in it... right from the start it was instalove between the two lead characters and, to be honest I thought I was gonna end up giving this a poor star rating because... I thought that's all it was... a hot and Steamy sex fest, and it does get a little repetitive...

But there's a background story once that's out of the way and I like how it develops, trying not to give anything away here as I'm not keen on spoilers lol.

I liked the lead characters: Derek - such an unattractive name for a hot book boyfriend... he was lovely! Can I get one of him to go please?
And I actually liked Melissa too which is good, she wasn't really all that annoying and I related to her and the situation she was in once we got round to it.
The secondary characters were good too... I liked Elaine and Patrick and am looking forward to reading their story.
And Sloan was a complete pig... we love to hate the bad guys lol!

This comes from Melissa's POV, then we get the epilogue from Derek at the end which was great!
The writing was ok, there weren't too many typos to notice and the grammar and sentence structure was good... apart from the few repetitive sex scenes at the beginning I really enjoyed the book and they had a really good HEA at the end.

I'm pleased this was free at my time of purchase, as everyone loves a freebie... I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a lot of raunch in their books as, like I said above, lots of sex scenes and I know plenty of people who wouldn't like it... fortunately I'm not one of them hehe!

No Bdsm, hard core sex just a romance that was hot and sexy.
Derek meet Melissa.... One week of no ties sex which was constant and very enjoyable for all parties.
Then the week is up and Derek goes back to his investigation work. Melissa goes back to a loveless marriage which is about to be well and truly over.
So a pretty plain romance or so I thought but there is a twist with a few awkward moments which meant I had to finish the whole story lol
Nicely written and yes I'm tempted to read the next.

I really loved this book it was so romantic and very sexy from start to end. It also included some very sad and hurtful items but that just made the intense grow within me will she get help to survive. So wonderful and I am looking forward to reading the next ones.

This is where I have to admit to being mean in the amount of stars that I have given this book. I have read quite a few books recently and I have to admit that had this not been the case I would have given this 5 stars. Instead count this as a 4 1/2 star review.

The book is all about Melissa who is running away from her life for a week away with her friend. She starts the book sitting in a bar staring into her drink and musing about all the carefree people around her when her eyes connect with those of a man across the bar. That encounter leads to a sexual encounter against a wall!! That man was Derek.

Melissa knows that with everything going on a week long affair with this person would be a silly thing to do. Only problem is she cannot get him out of her mind. When a chance encounter gets them together again what else can they do but get together again.

The week ends and she heads back to her life wishing that she had been free to tell Derek that despite their short time together she had fallen in love with him.

Her life consists of a husband, Sloan, who from the first things he says just has you thinking 'what a slime ball'(perhaps something worse to be honest!). When Melissa comes across something that blows apart the thing helping hold her together she confronts 'it'(sorry spoilers if I say anything other than this!) with pictures of why she was running away for a week and emails.

Will she be able to heal enough and love Derek? Or will her past come back to haunt her that one time too many?

This is a great little read that moves along at a good pace with plenty of steam but also with enough depth to actually make you care about the characters. Derek at times I really wanted to slap and shout 'WHY!!?? Are you stupid?
