Originately I had wanted to purchase the dvd of the film. Now I am extremely glad that I could only get the unabridged book on several cds.
The book is honestly written and I hope will inspire those other singers to follow their dreams - not just remain "gifted amatures".
As usual the detail of all his efforts is fully stated, but not detailed in the film.

I bought the Kindle version of this book because I remember the first X Factor and Paul's beautiful rendition of Nessun Dorma made me cry. It still stands in my mind as one of the best episodes of X Factor ever. His story is a tale of survival of systematic bullying throughout his youth. It is also condemning of those who were in a position to help him yet did nothing. Paul should stand tall and proud because in spite of all that happened he has achieved beyond what even he may have dreamed of. Most of all, his music brings upliftment to many. A good read, but most of all, a story of hope and how even though you can't change your past, you can still become the person you really are.

This is the story of a man who had a lot of odds against him but got his break in the end. I love it when that happens. Paul Potts could have become hard and bitter after all the years of poverty (in western terms) and abuse, but he is a humble, nice guy with a great talent, who has not allowed his success to go to his head, and he has a great supporter in his wife. The film shows all this very clearly. I can identify with a lot of what he went through, and tears came to my eyes when it got to the point where he won Britain's Got Talent. It was well deserved. It's a film about ordinary people with their struggles and dreams, and, unlike so many films these days, it's clean, no steaming sex scenes or autrageous language. Some scenes are violent, but no more than what, sadly, many experience these days. I recommend this film.

Paul's book is testament to how strong willed and patient he is. Bullied and abused as a child he found solace in singing. Although extremely critical of himself, he has emerged at the end of a long, long journey not only as a top class salesman but also as a very successful singer. From Carphone Warehouse to the Sydney Opera House. Well done Paul Potts.

This book seemed to be rather a disappointment. Paul Potts did - indeed - prove to have talent and was of interest to the public but
this book did not seem up to the task of explaining his journey in the best way.

Having seen the film the book was a bit 'poor me' and not very inspiring; not to detract that it was a true story. The language sometimes a bit flowery for me - describing his beautiful bride with her blonde hair on her shoulders when it clearly was not on her shoulders in the photos, for instance.

This is a great book about a great singer. His rise from humble and sometimes painful youth is inspiring. It is wonderful to see how far he has gone in life.

An amazing story. An entertaining read of triumph over difficulties. He sounds genuine and humble. Not a pretty story in places but a good end!
