High quality built-in stereo microphones deliver a low-noise performance that is unsurpassed at this level. Casings are crafted from a solid aluminium block to reduce vibrations for a better sound. Cool new features of the LS-5

In addition to improved convenience and new editing facility, the new Olympus LS-5 has improved frequency response, clock accuracy and includes a new case for device and accessories. Also supplied in the package is an Instruction Manual, two AA batteries (LR6 or ZR6) and a USB Cable. Alkaline batteries offer approximately 22 hours recording time - extendable if using two Ni-MH rechargeable batteries instead.

Organise and edit, combine or divide

Supplied Olympus Sonority software lets users organise, edit, combine, divide, and rename files on either PC or Mac, or subscribe to RSS, podcasts and series updates via the Internet. If equipped with the optional Sonority Plus software DM-3 users can customise the recorder's menu, write audio CDs and convert files to MP3.

More recording formats, wider creative choice

The LS-5 allows users to record in ever-popular, widely compatible MP3 format for distributing and sharing music online. Different MP3 modes offer different recording times, with the option of 14 hours, 10 minutes at 320kbps, 17 hours, 45 mins at 256kbps, or 35 hours, 35 minutes at 128 kbps. PCM (WAV) format alternatively provides crisp, high quality uncompressed recording that delivers better than CD sound, with different modes offering different recording times - from 55 minutes at best quality to maximum three hours and 10 minutes.

If you need to record for even longer, WMA format is the option to go for, with up to 69 hours and 35 minutes offered at 64kbps setting.
