The book was purchased as a present for someone who wished to know more about Cromwell; unfortunately, it's a wee bit too high-brow for an introduction piece, and I've therefore had to purchase a simpler version for that same person (which this book will then follow on well from). Other than that though - which is a mistake of my own making - the book is beautifully well researched, and meets all criteria that such a book should ever have to. In summary, it's a "grown-up" version for the more academically minded out there, and represents good value for money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read 23 Mar. 2013

Little packs a punch in this criticle analysis of Cromwell. Using various authors with very interesting articles of research, myths are dispelled and we are led to not only a better understanding that there was a corrupt element which existed under the guise of religion. If you are researching or an English history buff, here is a book that is well organized and presented. One the reading begins you can't put the book down . Simply great.
