Verdict: Obviously everyones tasting notes can be different so keep that in mind but i FULLY RECOMMEND this single malt to you, it's a great experience and the price is pretty competitive too, if you've never tried it then this is one to add to the list. RECOMMENDED!
In times when more and more distilleries are opting for NAS (no age statement) products it's good to see Old Pulteney still producing a 12 year aged malt at a sensible price.
The whisky is a very pleasant Highland malt; smooth and warming.
Whilst it's not one of my all time favourites (such as Auchentoshan Three Wood), I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Highland malts.
At first sip this is not a striking whisky. It's thin, a little too salty and tastes more Bells than a quality single malt. However, after a few glasses it does grow on you. It's younger than the 21 for sure, but it's got a lively character and is warming to the mouth, interesting on the nose and the seafaring story it tells while not epic, is a jaunty little fable. By glass number 3 it had whisked me away with a smile on my face.
It's not a patch on the 21 whose elegance really can't be beat - but it ain't bad. And it's a quarter of the price to boot.
I've been through two bottles - and I'm a planning my third little boating adventure sometime soon.

Simply the finest 12 year old malt I have ever tasted. My Monday-Thursday tipple. Heck, Friday and saturday too. Between this and Cardhu for the best in that price range.Published 27 days ago by Amazon Customer
Old Pulteney is a great North East Highland Malt. QUite old fashioned in its style, but that's a good thing. And great value for money too.Published 1 month ago by Grant R
