I must confess to not being a great fan of autobiography's however this book was one I couldn't put down. What really comes through the writing is the honesty that you see from Carol on screen. There is no covering up in this book, trying to excuse the choices she has made. It's a book which takes the reader through a roller coaster ride of emotion which keeps you needing to turn the page to find out what happens next. Carol has led an interesting life and it's great to read about a down to earth person who has finally found their place in life and who is evidently happy with her current situation (and who wouldn't be compared to what had gone before). I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone out there.

I found this book to be hilarious, happy, sad and very inspirational! I never realised just how talented Carol actually is. To be able to present on radio, television and write her own book is something she should be extremely proud of.

Carol has never ceased to make me laugh and in the book she made me laugh, cry and hurt with her.

Couldnt wait to start this book and read it in just over a day. I wasnt disappointed, as this was one of the best autobiographies I have ever read. It was very open and honest and Carol has obviously led a very colourful life. Well done Carol!

This book is absolutely fantastic, it is incredibly well written, well done Carol. It is both hilariously funny throughout and poigniantly moving at times, this lady has certainly lived and it makes for a really great read, I couldn't put it down and read in one day you just keep wanting more. It swings from real laugh out loud moments that are really amusing to chapters that touch on heartache and show another side of Carol such as the loss of her mum. Defo recommend as a top summer read, just only hoipe she doesn't leave it at one book, she obviously has a huge talent for writing and would love to see more!

What a joy it was to read this book. I'm the same age, lived through the same pressures etc. This book is about knowing that even when you've made LOADS of mistakes life can come good and your a better person for those mistakes.

Reading about her mum dying is probably the sadest (and honest) recollection of such a traumatic event that I literally BURST into tears (I'm crying now while typing this).

READ THIS BOOK if you've made mistakes, it will possibly stop you making too many more!

Its brillient that Carol has succeeded against the odds. Possibly something to do with having a strong and loving mum - sadly not everyone does! Or may be is it because she is such a clever little so and so????

I gather this was written a few years' ago, so the ending is not actually current. I forced myself to read the whole book in the hope that I would get to something interesting, but it didn't happen.

I suppose if I was more interested in Carol this would be a good book, but actually I'm not and it wasn't.

I do feel glad for her that she got out of a poor council estate with no money and no prospects and managed to make something of herself. So now she's a "celebrity" but she's still grounded and would never do any of the z-list celebrity shows (oh, apart from Big Brother)
