The HotDO Hand Cannon is by far the best add-on to the Wii I've bought. After the extreme disapointment of the Wii Zapper, with its awkward grip and reliance on a nunchuck in the handle, I was about ready to give up on good guns for the Wii.
The Hand Cannon is the most perfect arcade rail-shooter addon for ANY system i've had. Well balance grip means that the remote isn't overly top-heavy in your hand, sites for those important boss fights and perhaps the most important factor...real arcade action feel.
This is perfect for anyone who plays "the House of the Dead" games, but is also great with "Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles" "Ghost Squad" and is acually marginally better than the zapper on "link's crossbox training"

This gun is fantastic, it looks like a magnum revolver which is Very cool, and the handle has grip so it feels comfortable to hold. And i am also happy about the fact that the B button is not fire unlike the wii zapper, but insted it is a proper trigger which makes it seem more life-like
P.S to reload don't bother pushing the A button just shake the Gun it is alot easyer. thanks for reading!

OMG!!! This gun rocks. However, if you fancy playing co-op mode with your little lady, arthritic grandfolks or weaker little brother then bare in mind the reason why this gun feels so good to use in the 1st place i.e. the weight. Clocking in at an impressive 500g & with the Wii controller sited so far forward in the barrel then this Hand Cannon really does live upto it's name. So... if you need a lighter weapon then I can highly recommend theVenom Light Blaster Gun (Wii) at less than 200g & with the Wii controller mounted closer to the handle it's a more compact & well balanced weapon of choice. Also the design is based on James Bonds Walther P99 so it's cool too.

Purchased this for House of the Dead: Overkill game and it most definately made the game for enjoyable for me. Back in 2007 I was looking forward to the Wii Zapper only to be disappointed when it required two hands to use and wasn't accurate at all.

This, however, doesn't give you hand cramp, has iron sights! (made of plastic though ;-), good balanced weight and doesn't feel cheap.
It also has a hidden cable area if you want to connect a nunchuk.

...recommended for on-rails shooters.

I pre-ordered this but it was delayed, so I grabbed myself a Nyko Perfect Shot (Wii Perfect Shot Gun(Wii)), which I used for a few days. This came yesterday, my first impression is it's huge! It's also quite weighty, but having played HotD:Overkill with it, I must say I do prefer it over the Nyko Perfect shot... It is easier to steady it with a second hand, and the trigger feels slightly better.

It doesn't have a pass-through socket for the nunchuck like the perfect shot, but it has a hole for the cable instead, so you can still attach it. It also has space in the handle for the Wiimote strap, so you don't have to remove it like the Perfect Shot.

I like this a lot, but it may be too big if you have smaller hands. I give this 5 stars, and the Nyko Perfect shot 4.

I've tried many variations of guns for the Wii, both official and unofficial. This gun is the best I have ever used, the grip is perfectly shaped for comfort and the rubber coated handle gives a good grip. There is a space inside to slot in a Wii motion plus if you aren't using the new wiimote and the weight balance is just right from a comfort and aiming perspective. This bad boy got me to the end boss of House of the Dead 3, I had never reached him before, in the arcades and on the Wii.

A smooth and silky ride all the way. Got this with the game and have to say it's the best bit of kit, peripheral wise, i've picked up for the old white slab. recommended.
P.S. The game is awesome too.

Of all the gun shaped containers for the wii remote I have tried, this is definitely the best looking and possibly the most solidly built.
The trigger movement feels right.
The grip is firm and pleasant, with a groove in the back to allow for the nunchuck cord, should you use it. The gun itself does not house the nunchuck and you will have to hold it with the other hand.
Not that you will want to, because the only problem with this gun is that as big as it is, it is somewhat unbalanced with all of the weight of the remote falling in front of your hand, and you will probably wield it two handed.
This hardly improves accuracy, as the manufacturer claims.
It is not a real problem per se, but the tip will be shaking a little as you shoot, and if the game you're playing has any action mapped to the remote shaking motion you might be triggering it more often than you'd like to.
This is a real issue with the very game this gun was made for, House of the Dead Overkill, which has a too sensitive shaking reload action.
It is definitely the game's fault, not the gun's, as it manifests itself even with the bare remote, but this gun makes it worse.
I recommend this gun for many shooting games on the Wii, as it is a great product of its kind, but I suggest you don't use it with those games that implement motion sensing superficially.
