The book is aimed at users of the Professional and higher Editions of Office which include rather more than just Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote which comprise the contents of the probably more often used Home-Student Edition.
Although also from Wiley, the book is an alternative to their Bible and is aimed at the more basic and probably more frequently used aspects of the various suite components. Although I would not claim that every question ever likely to asked will be answered by the relevant Bible, this is a different style of book and is less likely to solve any complex issues. That does not make the book a poor choice but its approach is more practical and pragmatic than attempting to look into the more obscure aspects of the relevant packages.
It is probably a good starting point for the first-time user who prefers a word-based rather than image-based guide. For the latter, Wiley have their 'Teach Yourself Visually' guides.
Apparantly I should have realised it is written mainly for beginners.
Others who are looking for just a bit more than very basic stuff could probably do better with a Google search and find the anwers in Microsoft's help pages.
