'Off Piste' explains how to ski away from resorts and the urban feel of normal skiing in safety. The author covers etiquette and snow management to make this somewhat dangerous pastime as risk-free as possible.

The book covers some good solid techniques but I didn't find them that easy to follow. Perhaps it's the sparseness of illustrations? If you want to perfect your powder technique, read the "All Mountain Skier".
The author is a Val d'Isere-based guide so if you're familiar with the area, you'll love it. Most books on snow safety in English are written for the North American audience so it's nice that this is aimed more at those that ski in Europe. A good practical guide to skiing off piste.
