Their latest album leads on from Ominous Doctrines of the Perpetual Mystical Macrocosm (who thinks of these names? Awesome!), and they do not disappoint - if you liked their last one, you'll have the same opinion of this one.

This is in no way a bad thing - the sound is distinctively different, albeit just as dark - and full of all new ideas, rhythms and riffs, equal to their previous offerings - headbanging and/or foot-tapping retain their legacy and can be in full swing listening to this. They stick to their guns with the raw black metal concept, to which I hope they will continue with for their future albums.

If I had to pick between this and ODotPMM (which I've just listened to again before writing this review), I would choose the latter - pretty much every track in it I consider to be 'very strong', yet there's a couple of tracks in this album where nothing really stands out, around the middle - but still not enough to deduct a star from their review however.

There's a revisit to a track from Nefarious Dismal Orations, Where Darkness is Lord and Death the Beginning, which has changes in the production quality from the original, but still the same overall.

Their vocals aren't for everyone - you'll generally love it or hate it - but they don't totally consume any of the tracks unlike most Death Metal; they actually have less voicework in this album than their prior, so I imagine I could even get my Dad to like this!

Notable Tracks:

Force of the Floating Tomb
Darkness Flows Towards Unseen Horizons
Obscure Verses for the Multiverse
Inversion of Ethereal White Starts
Infinite Interstellar Genocide

It is a good item but i would rather it in a sealed package. It is in an open plastic bag.

5.0 out of 5 stars Obscure album that should be shared with the universe 11 Jan. 2016

This was my introduction album for Inquisition. It is now one of my favorite albums, and bands. If you have any decency in your black metal taste buds you like a little originality with newer bands. And maybe you're tired of the same formula being repeated over and over. Where can black metal go from here, you ask. Inquisition will surprise you in response to that question. First off, I give respect to any 2-piece band because it automatically spells talent in my book. Second, Inquisition fits snugly in my cd case next to Drudkh and Immortal. Musically Inquisition reminds me of the mesmerizing, repeating riffs that make up a Drudkh album. Vocals are very reminiscent of early Immortal. Guitar features a pitch shifter frequently, which adds a unique element in itself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great new album by Inquisition 6 Nov. 2013

I've been waiting for this album for months, and now that it is here I am so stoked I had to write a review. I have been a fan of Inquisition for a long time, I literally love their sound.

This new album has all the elements of previous albums pus tons more. Lots of variation in the vocals, not just the death croaks of an ancient goblin wizard of the previous albums. This time the voice is way more annunciated, and even has some death metal growls and other vocal styles.

The guitar is AMAZING.. the tone is perfect, the way he bends the notes up and down is mesmerizing, and like mentioned in other reviews there are some solos and some kinda post metal melodic interludes. I love love love the way the guitarist plays, it is perfect to me. Super fast tremolo-played bits alternating with fully strummed chords. Also, his style has that deep sadness of emotion to it that I find so beautiful in it's absolute bleakness... other bands that touch on this would be Taake, Judas Iscariot and Sargeist.

Drums are fast and fit the music perfectly. Awesome blast beats plus dead-on double bass drums add so much to the tracks and link up perfectly.

The production quality could be a bit better. That would be my only negative.

All in all, this is one of my favorite black metal albums ever, every song is a winner, and has been playing on repeat in my truck since I bought it. Get this now. 4.5 stars
5.0 out of 5 stars Somehow, This Band Eluded Me For 2 Decades... 9 April 2015

I've never written a review on here, why would I start now? Because this album is phenomenal, front to back. It's not all that often you come across something new that blows you away. You tend to like what you like and use it as a benchmark to compare everything else to. "It's alright, but I'd rather listen to (insert 20 year old black metal album here)." I find this album very refreshing. It's something new I can listen to relentlessly and not get tired of. And as a 2-piece, these guys just nail it live, which is what steered me towards this album in the first place. You've spent $15 on dumber things, and I know you have. Stop reading this and just buy the thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars MASTERPIECE 24 Mar. 2014

This album is fantastic. I listened to it today for the first time while laying down in my bed and it's very hypnotic. It's very dark, and has a mystical occult atmosphere like all Inquisition, but this one is more cosmic for lack of a better term.
The musicianship is incredible, I think these guys are getting better with each release. There are also a few areas on the album where a somber tone or feeling of loneliness is expressed through the riffs. Must have metal.

Wow what an amazing black metal release ! so much going on from 2 guys .Incubus is seriously a really good extreme drummer. perfectly flows with the guitars . This album has some nice catchy bits and pleasant melodies but sounds alot like the Inquisition sound still that unique vocal style and guitar playing just one of a kind . Haunting , Dark , Meditative , Yet Intense .Very good song writing going on here.
