I love this author and have all the books but this one let her down, I loved the story and the characters so much maybe Maybe favourite over nico but the errors in spelling and grammar made it seen rushed and not at all like it should be, maybe no proof reading. This will not put me off but I expected better

Maz - So for a long time, me and the skinny beauty queen have raged a battle between us about who Kai belongs to - well the book sadly answered the fact that it isn’t me *sobs*. Crystal, how could you give him to Kayla in the acknowledgments?! ;)

Maz - Seriously though, from the moment we were first introduced to Kai in the Until series, the guy made an immediate impact and i’ve been begging for his book ever since, so now finally my prayers were answered.

Maria - I agree. I've been wondering who he is, I wanted to know more about him. He is the strong silent type most women want.

Maz - And I feel we had a lady worthy of our Kai. I loved the back story between the two of them, about how he’d always been her protector, even when they were kids.

Maria - I loved Myla, I actually think for once in a book I preferred the heroine. Don't get me wrong, I love Kai, it's just so few women are stand out in books these days and I felt Myla was.

Maz - Kai was known as such a hard man, with a slightly shady background, but this book revealed just how big his heart was as well. I had serious envy over a fictional character in the way he adored and cared for her.

Maria - yeah. *sigh*

Maz - And to lower the tone slightly *hey it’s me*, that boy really likes feasting if you know what I mean. Heat just rolled off the pages and i’m surprised my kindle didn’t overhead and burn my fingers.

Maria - I felt the book had lots of content too, it was enough to keep us interested in the story that was removed from the love story, and that is a feat in itself.

Maz - Oh yeah, there is a huge plot and storyline, lots of another kind of action, rather than what I mentioned above. It’s a great, great book and totally what I longed for Kai’s book to be like. Aurora certainly delivered. A Big FAT ***** stars here.

Maria - 5 stars from me too

I've read and enjoyed all the books Aurora has written, some more than others of course, 'Until November' and 'Assumption' are my favourites but they're all good reads. This one however I have mixed feelings about, I know it starts when they're children which is really nice but for me personally I would have liked more background, more of a connection between them.
It's hard not to like Kai, he's a dark and dangerous total alpha who sweeps in to protect Myla and while he doesn't always handle things the correct way we know why he's doing what he's doing and that made me love him more because he wasn't perfect, but trying and learning.
Myla, I hate to say that I struggled more with her and yes she's been through so much that I feel mean but I honestly wasn't totally sold on her, I didn't dislike her she was just ok.
This book seemed to drag at times and was a little confusing at others, I didn't really feel the connection or spark between the two but since I read romance and there is a lovely romance running through this book as these two characters who've been thrown together start to develop feelings for each other then it's hard to not like this to a certain extend.
Rating...this is the tricky bit part of me wants to give it 3 stars but then I don't think that would be fair because that's the rating I give to the majority of free reads and this is better than most of those so 3 stars doesn't really represent this book but then 4 stars seems too much so I'm giving 3.5 to 4, I know it's only a rating who cares but I try to be fair.

Aurora Rose Reynolds is one of my favorite authors. No matter what story she writes, she always finds the way to present it in such a way that it captures your attention from the first few words and keeps you on your toes until the very end. I always feel like I know the characters she writes about, they are just so real. Obligation is not an exception. Once I dived into the book, I resurfaced only when I read the very last word. And I was still craving more. I just wanted more Kay and Myla, and Uncle Frank (he was definitely a fun character :D ), and I definitely wanted to read some more about Sven and Maggie :) such a pity I will have to wait for awhile until I can read their story :)

Kai is quite an interesting character. He pretty much implements the term TALL, DARK and DANGEROUS :D But he is also so tender and romantic with Myla. I loved the contrast between his two sides. It was definitely intriguing to read how he changes because of the feelings he has for Myla. How his love for her makes him softer in his interactions with her but at same time it makes him even more fierce in trying to protect her, no matter the cost. I loved reading how he changed little by little in order to become Myla's perfect other half. I definitely enjoyed the feeling that they were meant to be together and in a way Kai felt it when he met her for the first time when he was only ten years old :)
Myla is also quite an intriguing character. One one side she is strong, independent and even stubborn from time to time. But she is also terrified from the demons in her past that make her feel vulnerable and weak. I loved seeing how Kai's love and devotion helped her overcome some of her fears and even healed the worst wounds from her teenage years.
